The 2005 NFL draft is April 23 and 24. Who do you think will do well and what teams do you think will pick your favorite players?

I'm not sure who will pick Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown. I hope they both get picked by really good teams. I'd like to see either on the Packers team, but I'm not sure that will happen.

I really haven't kept up with the rookies. I do hope there are some stand outs similar to Big Ben and Eli this coming year.

This is going to be one of the suckiest drafts ever. Experts say the top quarterback this year (Rogers or Smith) would've been the 5th QB picked last year.

I don't follow college ball, but I read the combine reports to see what cornerbacks would be available. The top three look like marqui players.

Niners should be able to trade down to the middle of the first round and still get the top two cornerbacks and a solid OL.

Too bad for the 49ers that Leinart decided to stay. They should trade down, but I don't know many that would want to trade up to get that 1st pick.

I heard that the 49ers are leaning towards Alex Smith over Rodgers. The draft will be interesting to see. IMO Braylon Edwards is the best player in the draft.

True. If so, I'd use it to grab Adam Jones. He'd fill a key role and they could pick an OL somewhere else.

But the 49ers DO need a QB. Both Rodgers and Smith are very capable QBs, maybe not top pick caliber, but they were among the best college QBs in the nation. The 49ers' Tim Rattay has proved to be injury prone and ineffective thus far.

Why would the Packers need another RB? They do have Ahman Green... who does fumble... but I think they have more pressing needs?

Rattay's effectiveness is an unknown. He was proven coming out of college just like those two. But he's played the past two years behind an offensive line that had to be the worst in the league. He seldom even got 3 steps before the pocket was collapsing. Look at a back like Kevon Barlow who is quick and powerful but who got ZERO lanes to run through. You just can't evaluate a QB and RB properly when the line is made of paper.

The Niners have an average defensive line....STELLAR linebackers....great safeties....and horrible cornerbacks. You get some good cornerbacks and the safeties can start playing up and the linebackers can blitz more and suddenly your defense is stifling.

True! That's why I said that I'm not sure it will happen. I just want to see either of them on a team I actually like! :p

Braylon Edwards might go to the Vikings, unless they pick up a free agent before then. Dan Patrick was saying that he's the best reciever, if not the best player, in the draft this year.

I think Braylon Edwards will be the best WR taken out of this draft. I would love it if the Bears took a shot and took him.

Go Bears!

The bears won't go for a WR in the draft, they got Moose from the Panthers so they should be set there. Although I was sad to see him go, I think it's good we didn't spend that kind of money on him. He's getting old, seems to play well only during contract years, and we already have our star WR in Steve Smith.

I'm a Cleveland fan, so I hope the draft goes like this.

1. Alex Smith
2. Ronnie Brown || Cadillac || Benson (Doesn't matter which one)
3. Either pick Braylon Edwards, or try and trade with Minnesota and grab DJ at 8 and Barron or Khalif later in the 1st round.

I hope there will be a lot of trades. Lots of teams in the top 10 want to trade down, but it doesn't seem like anyone will meet their price so far.

49er fan checking in, still hoping another team really wants the #1 pick, so we can trade it, and grab Williams or Edwards, along with more picks. If not, I see the 49ers drafting Smith.

From ESPN it seems the niners are gonna draft Smith and then get screwed by Smith's agent and pay him more money than Eli Manning's deal last year. Even though Eli is a much better prospect than Smith. An awful year to have the #1 pick. Poor Niners.
