And the new corvette is gorgeous. It outperforms the mustang on every level, as well. The new LS2 can pump out 500 rwhp with minor tweaks and a few beef-ups.

The GT is more like 30k less expensive than the base C6. GT will be 20-25k and C6 will be 55k.

Anyways, back to your mullet mobile... er, Camaro, f-body boy.

im thinking it'll be more like 30-35K in markup because it will be in hot demand.

You're a tool. You would think a car that costs twice as much would be able to outperform it on every level you frickin' moron. Oh wait, the Ford GT pwns the C6. Let's throw out more useless comparisons shall we?

And the F-body can't kick the Mustang's ass if it is no longer in production.

Mustangs is my dream car and i love them, but the 2005 sucks so i voted, "No it kinda sux." I mean they fuq'd up the whole car! Its been said that they dont come sounding loud anymore. SUCKS SUCKs!

Since when? In the 3 videos I've seen of it, it sounds just as throaty as the 99-04 Cobras. The 99-04 GT's with the stock exhaust sound weak as hell.

lol... no joke. Hey, my Ferrari kicks your Pinto's ass!

I think it's a great car, but personally I get a feeling there might be too many of them

I see too many mustangs daily as it is, I hope that doesn't happen to this one too

Agreed. The should have used the major redesign to look forward instead of backwards. The ultimate looking Mustang IMO is the Saleen S351.

Saleen S351 #1

Saleen S351 #2

Saleen S351 #3

🙂

Ack! It might be the ultimate if you like a lot of nonfunctional gills, ground effects, and all-around decorative frippery. I like the Roush Mustangs a lot better than the Saleens, at least in terms of aesthetics, because they are aggressive without resorting to all that stylistic silliness.

I actually do like that iteration of the Mustang - I had a neighbor who had a black mid-90s Cobra (not sure of the year, but it had side pipes, which looked awesome but ended up cracking the ground effects on one side from heat) that was the most attractive modern Mustang I've seen.

I look forward to seeing what Roush and Saleen come up with based on the handsome new car.

I really like the 2005 Mustang and can't wait to see a few on the road...I still would rather have my new GTO though, just to be a little different and have the interior and other amenities. Should be fun 🙂

The trend has been quiter over the past couple of generations. I'll always love the sound a 5.0L makes...the late model 5.0's (foxbody and SN95) with the proper exhaust modifications can sound sooooo sweet,

IMO of course...I am a tad biased...

😉

The GTO looks like a great car in terms of performance, and appears to have the best interior of a GM car in many years. The styling is definitely muted, but that's not entirely a bad thing, considering how bad things can get When Pontiac Designers Attack. It might save you the occasional ticket as well. Nice, nice car.

Along those lines, why the hell are 95% of the most appealing GM cars made by Holden and Opel, and not available in the US? They can take their Azteks, Rendezvous, and Cavaliers and shove them up their butts as far as I'm concerned. It's as though GM has stopped caring about making anything but SUVs and trucks nowadays, a design philosophy that may come back to bite them if gas prices continue to rise.

As I've said before, I know I'm in the minority. I realize most people like the more "classic" style mustangs, and there are a few I like, but I just grew up around the Fox bodies (later ones '90-'93), and the SN95's, were my favorites overall. I realize the Mustang was overdue for a major redesign, I just wish it had been more of a forward looking redesign, instead of retro.

The Saleen I linked is a much better car mechanically than the Roush ones, IMO, and the styling is not for everyone. It is what I consider the "ultimate" Mustang of recent years. I'm also partial to that body kit, but I was speaking more generally. Cars are like many things...some things look good to some people, and not to others. Let me dig up some specs on the S351...

BTW, straight polished dual pipes is a much cleaner look IMO than the side exhaust, which I think looks a bit...well..like some of that decorative frippery. 😉

Found em..

I'm glad I got my '03 Cobra though. 11's for $1500 or less. not bad.

That is a pretty good price.

No kidding. Where do you get an '03 Cobra for $1500? And I didn't know they ran 11s? That's crazy fast.

Reading comprehension. He's saying he got his 03 Cobra into the 11's for $1500 or less in mods. You're a fellow Eaton supercharged Ford owner - you should know what he's talking about of ALL THE PEOPLE ON THE BOARD 😛

Funny, I haven't seen any on the road yet.

Here in Ford Country I usually get an early peek at a few being driven around.

I live only a mile from the test track.

I know, but I had nothing good to post, so I messed around w/ him there with the money thing. Unfortunately chip, pulley and filter only gets you into the high 12s with the Ls. You're still meat for Z06s.

It still beats a lot/most of the cars, assuming you know how to drive. Short of dropping the truck off at JDM or PSP, mid-low 12's is about all you can hope for with the usual bolt ons for the L.

I've been beaten by a Boxster S before. How's that for driving skill?
