-Anti-lock Brakes/Traction Control
-Side Air Bags
-Interior Color Accent Package
-Interior Upgrade Package
-Leather Seating

At the track, I was told drivers burnout to kick debris off slick tires and heat them up.

The front and rear styling are so retro and keep you hooked, but the sides are so bland. Though I'm sure people are gonna make some slits or add some side skirts. Does anybody know how it handles? Usually american cars arent known for their handling. But at that price, around 30000, I'll buy it if its just fun to drive.

CD.

Just a side note, while I really like the pictures that have been released I was not impressed with that rear side window when he turned the corner. It looks seriously out of place, like it was tacked on as an afterthought.

thats called a rev limiter and I dunno what burnouts youv seen but all the ones where you actually stay put or go really slow like that you bounce it off the rev limiter. if you can keep it at exactly before the rev limitor and do a burnout like that youv got mad skills

Host down, nobody wants to rehost? Personally I'm not keen on this new one (throwback design influence reminds me more of a Mustang II than a classic Mustang), but a friend really likes the new ones. And he likes burnouts. Other than that he's ok.

Thank you :D

Out the door with Tax, Title, and License (Virginia) it was $27.6K - Thanks to a Ford X-Plan from a friend.

Mineral Grey is an awesome color. Black rally stripes will be available from the Ford Accessory catalog, I'm planning on getting silver rally stripes myself. If you fully load out the GT Deluxe instead of the GT Premium, it ends up being a little bit cheaper.

Since 20,000 people have pre-ordered. I'd imagine it would be quite a while before you see any. The only one I've seen is a $400 rebate for recent college grads. It cannot be used in conjunction with a Ford A/D/X/Z plan though.

The GT starts at 24.5k. The high end version runs about 28.5k....

I'm very excited. I haven't seen one in person yet, and I never jump on a new car or buy one in the first year, but this could very well be my next car. So beautiful in the pics. And the performance numbers thus far are VERY impressive.

Noooo Vic don't do it. Don't go to the dark side! :p:)

Linky no worky.

Tuffguy:
1968 gto - 400ci, 360hp, 445lb-ft, 3650lbs, 14.8@95mph
2004 gto - 346ci, 350hp, 365lb-ft, 3725lbs, 13.6@104.78mph

Why is the new one, with less power and more weight, faster?

Who cares? :)

The old GTO had style and personality while the new one just doesn't.

I'd guess a combination of gearing, tires, and maybe HP measurement. I don't know for sure, but I've read tires of today have much better traction than the compounds they used decades ago. They also switched from SAE gross to net horsepower ratings sometime in the 70s IIRC.

All of that is true, plus a more typical et for a 68 GTO would be the low 14s, at least with a 4 spd.

I'd also attribute it to the engine and engine internals. Which affects the willingness/ease of the engine to rev and the power delivery.
