Only problem I see with it is the weak Mercedes engine. 215hp and 229ft-lbs isn't going to keep up very well with a 350z. The dodge 3.5l isn't as smooth but its 244hp and 250ft-lbs might do a little better or throw a 345hp HEMI in it. I'd buy it with a HEMI in it, well if I had $40k to blow on a car.

Did you even READ the article? The car is basically a Mercedes SLK (engine, chassis, suspension, brakes, safety equipment, transmission, interior) with a different body and is built in Germany by Karmann.

It's basically a Mercedes with a different body. I'd place Mercedes above Audi/VW in reliability/quality (minus interiors).
