2001FP People. Are you blind? This screen SUCKS!

I purchased this LCD about 3 months ago, and could not be anymore disatisfied.

This is my 3rd 2001FP from Dell, almost all the other ones had over 5 dead pixels.

There is this NASTY shadow to every pixel. Looks almost like every pixel has a black edge, and you can see the matrix when you scroll the screen up and down, especially on white\blue backgrounds. This is bugging me beyond belief, it just looks terrible and not comforting. My 2 other ones had the same issue, so i'm pretty sure i dont have a deffective one, unless of course, I received 3 defective screens.

Compared to my friend's 19" planar, the picture quality of the 2001FP is about 1.5 out of 10.

Owners of 2001FPs, have you looked at other LCD's?? This LCD is so terrible, its going on ebay today, i cant stand looking at it anymore.

 
Despite my issue with the lag (not all people notice this) the picture is outstanding, even using analog. It stomps the 17" Micron and 17" Samsung 170n LCDs I use at work.
 
It took you 3 months to realize you didn't like this LCD?

I had mine since last December and still love it. Eat your loss and move on.
 
Just been too busy to do anything about it. I think you're right I will have to eat my loss, sell it on ebay and stick with a Planar.

What video card are you using? I don't experience any of the stuff you mention, or I'm not looking that close. Maybe you're more sensitive than most? I wish I could marry my 2001 FP in RL.
 
I just got mine from the last deal today. All I can say is, wow I wish I had gotten one sooner! Farcry at16x12 on my 6800 is awsome.
 
I'm using a BFG GeForce 4 5900 (128mb).

The problem i'm experience occurs especially when i scroll up and down, or load a new screen, i can see a matrix that refreshes.

moreover, when a window is just sitting there, i can see the pixels and lines accross.

maybe this is normal, but relative to the Planars that I've been looking this looks terrible. It just looks like a very low quality LCD panel.

I'll try it on another PC today and see if that does anything.

Did you try my suggestion?
 
Chad I did. It didnt make a difference on the background of windows etc. The black lines and matrix around the pixels are still visible.

I'm thinking that my eyes are just very sensitive. But even my friend with the Planar was a bit disgusted at the picture quality.
 
I just returned a 19" LCD with a 800:1 / 25ms. I loved everything about it but the slight ghosting in gaming. Couldn't stand that so back to a 19" CRT for me. I'll wait another year before looking again.
 
There's definitely minimal ghosting in games, relative to many other LCD's i've played around with. But the 2d desktop quality is very poor IMO.

Was that the 1905FP? What games did you test it on?

ditto. Mine is amazing and so is the one my father has. We both love ours. Zero dead pixels and amazing looking 2Dn. Its great for Games aswell. I'm sorry you are having such a bad time with yours. I don't think I could live with out mine.
 
I love mine now too but I do admit that it took me a few minutes to find the right cleartype settings before it was perfect to my eyes.

I use the bottom middle setting in cleartype.
