as others have said do keep in mind the real cost come into play when you need to get it serviced. put it in perspective.......$400.00 for new brake pads.....not cheap.

I bought mine with a 36,000 mile warranty that covered just about everything but the regular maintenance things. You should consider such protection also.

I also bought it knowing that I have a good friend that works as a bmw technician and would do all my service off the record in his own shop and just charge me parts.

Is that $400 installed or $400 for the pads?

remember this is being done by a certified bmw mechanic outside of the bmw shop so I jsut get jcharged the parts then I usually throw him some cash for his time. IOW it will be more for you if you don't have a hook up.
