Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, it's amazing what mischief an indigenous people can cause given the right resources when you enter their country to impose change. Given the drug cartels ability to wage a guerrilla war with the backing of their money, it won't be pretty.

When the bodies of Americans are being drug though the streets towed behind jeeps and this is broadcast all over the world through the web we'll find out just how cocksure you still are.

🙄 Because it's something we are doing that is killing tens of thousands in Mexico.

The war on drugs is there to stop this, but it's treated so badly that no actual war is going on and tens of thousands die. Only way it'll end is if we can sneak some nukes to the cartels to give the government a reason to actually invade and clean it up.

drug wars dont work. they will always be replaced by more cartels and drug dealers

Laws don't work. There will always be murderers and thieves. See how that logic works? The reasoning behind it isn't to put a finality on it, but because it's right.

while im for legalization, especially of marijuana, thats not suddenly going to stop all the people in all the cartels from shooting other people. i think it would reduce their income, but theyd still need to be dealt with. theyre used to money and power and mayhem, less money coming in isnt going to suddenly make them timid.
 
Just send a naval task force off of the coast of Mexico, then start dropping Cruise Missiles on the drug plantations and the drug lords mansions. Cut off their drug source, make the drug lords lives a living hell and they will eventually disappear.

The the better choice would have been not to take the job in the first place. I guess coming to your senses in this case is better late than never.
