Doubt you can use Paypal and Google Checkout for same purchase (competition between the two is probably the reason we're getting this very nice deal). 🙂

Detail for combining Paypal "$20 off $50" & FW 2% rebates:
Sign up with FW & set your browser options to always be logged into FW, whenever visiting their forums, or shopping FW "stores". Click on "stores" and then the Newegg link. Allow FW pop-ups & you'll then get a pop-up window describing the X% rebate for whichever merchant, along with a tracking number. At the merchant website, choose items to fill "shopping cart" & begin checkout.
In a separate new window of the same browser, go to the special Paypal website and click the Newegg link.
Shopping cart should then still have the selected merchandise.
One payment option is Paypal. Choose that option, and (assuming you've registered by Nov.22nd on the special Paypal website for the $20 promo) you should also get the $20 Paypal rebate. Finalize the purchase in the 2nd browser window.
The $20 Paypal rebate should certainly work. Whether the FW 2% rebate also works is not as certain.
Note: both rebates will take a month or two to finalize. And it's always possible that FW could deny the extra 2% rebate, but not very likely.

Since you can reach that promotion through a direct link from the PayPal homepage, it seems a highly unlikely that it is a Phish. But play it safe and get there through the PayPal site.

1. Is there any reason to think that we can't get FCash with this deal?

2. Do we have to access the merchants by going through the paypal site, or can we just shop directly through the merchants to get the $20 rebate?

3. Can we get the free shipping more than once?

how do you get the rebate, is it automatic, or do u have to fill something out after using paypal at one of the sites.

You were supposed to have filled in a short registration form by Nov 22. All you do is you spend $50 or more at one of the listed paypal merchants

Click on "See featured sites" under 100,000 sites!

And 6-8 weeks after Dec 31, they'll deposit $20 back into your paypal account.

I just picked up a Scythe Ninja ($39.99 pretty hot by itself) and a Silverstone Fan Controller ($19.99) to kick me over the minimum. Lets hope that I'll get my $20 back in February

It seems to be a mystery that only Paypal knows. They made me sign up for the rebate but sent no e-mail confirming eligibility. I'd really like to know if they'll honor it before i hit the old buy button.

I am always leary of "trust us" which seems to be how this offer is.....pathetic....also the 8 week wait which in rebate terms can mean 6-8 months......

Paypal is certainly no Google.....

When you select Paypal for checkout it will take you to the Paypal site. Sign in, pick your payment method and hit the pay now button. You'll then return to the origional site and get your purchase confirmation number.

When does it show that you have free shipping? I've got my shopping cart full at Newegg, I chose to pay with paypal, and I'm on the verge of pressing the "submit order" button, but it still shoes that I am paying $8.73 for shipping. Does this correct itself once you pay with paypal, or are they just going to stick me with the shipping costs?

(and yes, I signed up ahead of time and my shopping cart has more than $50 in it)

The free shipping is a whole different ballgame and Newegg isn't on the field.

I'm realizing that...

I am not impressed with Paypal's vague and even misleading deal. Newegg was on the list of participating merchants, but not on the super special "Paypal Holiday Landing Page."

Be careful with an ebay purchase.
In order to qualify it has to be bought from someone with a business paypal account.

The average joe selling on ebay won't be a eligible merchant account.

Ok so I registered for the $20 off of $50 deal, how do I know that I will receive the rebate ? There is no mention that I am registered, I never received any kind of confirmation email, and it says nothing in my paypal account. Do I just make my purchase on faith ? Will the rebate show up in my paypal account when I make the purchase ?

It looks like Newegg opted out:disgust:

I am totally confused. Which stores are offering the 20 dollar rebate? This is the worst explained deal I've ever came across on the web.

When I log into paypal there is no trace of being registered for this deal, how do you even claim the rebate?

You'll know if you're registered because when you visit the paypal site, it should say you're registered (I imagine if you have your cookies enabled).

Saw this on FW:

Just got off the phone with PP rep. She knows very little, here are the bullet points:

* If you successfully registered for promo, you will receive a confirmation email. No email = no luck.
* There will be NO INDICATION on your account page, on checkout page or anywhere else. Again, no email = no luck.
* Only the merchants listed at http://paypal.com/holiday are eligible for rebate. No Newegg, guys.

I empahsized the "small print" thing and asked if it's a mis-advertisement then. She said YES!!!

That would ultra suck if it is true.
