I fail to understand why stacking two mattresses ontop of eachother would be any softer than just one, it's not like your body presses against the floor when you're laying on it.. Where does the extra softness come from?

<-- Futon man.

How do you guys sleep with 2 pillows? 1 pillow under my head lifts it high enough off the mattress.

/me thinks the 2 pillows comment went over your head.......

did you put a pea in between them?

Hey! What is that about? I kind of remember... a story from childhood or some thing?

It was the story of a prince's family wanted to find a real princess to amrry their prince. The test to find a real princess was to put a pea under 100 mattresses and in the morning if she felt the pea under all the mattresses then that was proof that she was of royal blood.

No one ever passed the test so the prince put a big rock under 1 mattress for the girl he liked and then got married.

Now someone tell me why sleeping on a soft mattress is bad for your back

Because it doesen't support you, and your spine sags.

The futon mattress is usually on a "bed" of slats.. But I just put mine on the floor, it's the same thing.
