The day that the president became president, gasoline was $1.79 a gallon. Look at what it is today. Under President Bachmann, you will see gasoline come down below $2 a gallon again. That will happen.

You aren't at all curious how she is going to achieve that? That's something I'd care about before casting a vote, particularly if I'm single issue voter.

Hey, if she says she can do it, she can do it. Conservatives wouldn't tell the public blatant lies to get what they want - would they?
 
So what, is she proposing price controls? Extensive regulation of speculation? Kicking ExxonMobil's CEO in the nuts?

She has no plan except drilling in ANWR. That won't put a dent in the price of gas. There isn't anywhere near enough of it there, and oil is still sold on the world market.
 
So she is proposing the nationalization of all private oil companies?

I didn't see that one coming. 😱

Yeah but not nearly as big of a problem as the fact that China/India and a litany of other countries such as Brazil are growing at a torrent pace while petrol supplies aren't growing..

Ok as realistic options we have:

1) Nationalize all oil companies operating inside US territory.

2) Remove oil from the futures markets

3) Intentionally crash world economy to reduce demand

4) Release entire SPR at once to artificially suppress fuel prices for a short window

5) Intentionally cause deflation by restricting the money supply and freezing the bond markets
 
1. Nationalize oil companies
2. Pull out of global market for oil
3. Invade Canada
4. Blow up Canada (people, not the oil), the blue states, and California (even if they go red when they see which way the wind is blowing)
5. Re-invade Iraq
6. Keep collecting SS payments, but don't pay any out and use the excess to buy gas for everyone

$1.25 gasoline

She is toast and I think she knows it and is trying to do something to save her campaign.
