The problem here is, yea I don't care one bit about Bachmann, but those who *hate* her, are always the ones who also want the most vile of the progressives voted into every district.

So it's mixed emotions.

I want *neither* in office. But, these are my choices...

Peak oil, wars, money printing, inflation, China/India...I can't believe its not on its way to $10 like London, England. The pioneers will weep blood with crushing despair.

The more she says stuff like this, the more I realize why she identifies herself as the true representative of the Tea Party and why the Tea Party adores her so much. What a perfect match.

Palin you has-been, sorry, you got kicked to the gutters. Bachmann FTW

That's going to be one seriously expensive subsidy program.

She's going to get rid of all taxes and surcharges attached to the price of gas and then she's going to deregulate the oil industry into driving their costs down. Then she's going to get rid of any unions that are in any way related to the oil industry to drive costs down even further. Then she's going to deregulate the oil speculators even further which will surely bring their oil speculating costs down who will in turn pass the savings on to the consumers (she thinks). Then, she's going to do a Reagan-style amnesty for all illegal aliens and have them work for the now-deregulated oil/energy companies at slave labor wages.

And there you go...$1.25/gal. gas. The only problem now is how to sell all this cheap gas to the millions and millions of newly poor folks her policies created who can't afford it even at the new lowered price or have had to sell their cars to pay for food and shelter.

She looks like a stunned deer about to get hit by a car whenever I see her on TV.

The saddest thing about the US right now is that with Obama a complete fvcking disappointment he still has a very good chance of winning next year because the Republican field is full of abject idiots and/or assholes as well. A fight to the bottom, the American people screwed again.

The saddest part of this is the tea paty masses will just cheer her on for saying this type of crap. "YAY Michele. You placate us so well."

Bet not one of them asks how the fuck she thinks she, or any individual on the planet, could possibly do that.

Yeah, she is a batshit insane Teabagger, but holy crap I don't care. As long as she can bring back $2 gas, I could care less about who's in office.

This dumb broad has my vote.

Don't forget bringing milk down to $1.25/gallon.

So what, is she proposing price controls? Extensive regulation of speculation? Kicking ExxonMobil's CEO in the nuts?

She has no plan except drilling in ANWR. That won't put a dent in the price of gas. There isn't anywhere near enough of it there, and oil is still sold on the world market.
Plunging the US into a depression would put us back under the $2/gallon price.

Anyone else hear the sound of desperation??

She is toast and I think she knows it and is trying to do something to save her campaign.

That was my initial thought too. I really like her campaign, it gives some much needed comic relief for all of us to enjoy.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that there isn't one Republican candidate out there that can come off as a normal person. The red team must be frustrated as hell.

I'd hate to say it, but maybe McCain should run again, except this time, let him run on his own terms, and don't let advisers ruin his campaign like they did when he ran against Obama.

Does Bachmann now take a stupidity lead over Palin?

Or perhaps campaigning genius? See below

You aren't at all curious how she is going to achieve that? That's something I'd care about before casting a vote, particularly if I'm single issue voter.

You might care but the American public is notoriously bad about holding politicians to their promises. Say enough fluffy happy things and your popularity goes up. Not enough people pay attention to the details - the way and means with which said promise will get done. Everyone is happy knowing that someone 'important' said they will make things better

And if you fail at your promise when you get elected...so what? Sure there will be some feeble attempts at outrage but no one will really get off the couch and shortly some politician will post PG13 pictures of themselves and attention will be diverted (but only if they have a last name that makes for catchy news captions) or Jersy shore/paris hilton/some other stupid celebrity will do something and all is forgotten

Really if the economy is ok or making gains and they manage to not do too many really really retarded things they will get re-elected even though they broke 67 of 89 promises

Not to democrats.

Do have have any basis for this dumb ass statement other than a pathological hatred for Democrats? You obviously weren't alive in the 1970s, the only modern era when nonwartime price controls were imposed-by a REPUBLICAN President. Net result-wage controls worked well (ie, no raises) but price controls were a dismal failure.

There was rationing and ancillary price controls during WWII (Dem President) as part of a national emergency. Eisenhower (GOP) also instituted price controls during the Korean War, much less of an emergency.

Yes I have a very good, current basis on which to base that statement, having nothing to do with a pathological hatred for anyone.

Minimum Wage.
Bank Fee regulation.
Rent Controls.

All of which are typically subjects of fierce defense from the left.
