2 dead in Irvine, CA - Samurai-style sword incident

Ok before this turns into a flame fest, let's not generalize all Samurais. Most Samuai are peace loving people and look forward to a peaceful solution to problems. I have several Samurai friends, and they all condone this incident and believe that a true Samurai would never do this. It's all because of poverty and misguided mad people, who claim themselves as spiritual leaders to fullfil their evil desires. I say we hug out Samurai neighbours and make them feel welcome.

Besides, it was a samurai-style sword...not necessarily a samurai doing the attacking.

That's a big deal in irvine. What i dont like is the implication that the guy wielding the "samurai style" sword was asian, or more specifically, japanese. I guess that goes with the territory, though. But does anyone else familiar with the area find it kind of inappropriately humorous that in Irvine, California, home of the University of Civics and Integras AKA University of Chinese Immigrants (UCI), the likely ONLY murder of the year is with a SAMURAI sword?? The only thing that could be worst is if the only murder this year was by an asian immigrant who killed somoene by running them over, since, as everyone knows, asian people can't drive.

I just heard on the TV that it was a machette now.
It was short TV commericial news clip, News at 10. From the video its the one on Alton I'm sure.OC Register has an article on it. Apparently the guy's name is "joe parker" from Santa Ana, a former employee of the store. Ten bucks says his current employment is at the post office...
Dude, I heard that there was this ninja who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the ninja killed the whole town. My friend Mark said that he saw a ninja totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.
