2 day hangover?

So I went 1 month without a drop of alcohol. On Friday, I drank pretty heavily. Felt like crap Saturday. Slept and went to my go to pedialyte + aspirin recovery. I was tired but feeling much better by the evening. I felt almost 100% this morning and good enough to go to the gym. Everything was fine w/ warm up but when I loaded the weights, I got the most intense headache with those floaty things in my vision. I went home and took aspirin and feel much better.

Is there a such thing as a 2 day hangover? Is there anything I should take that I have no already?

If you're not in college anymore, I'd say yes. When I was in college, I barely even got hung over. Now, at 26 if I drink heavy on a Friday, it basically ruins my entire weekend. Even just a few drinks now can ruin most of my next day.

That's why I don't drink that much anymore..

Usually for me anything over 8 drinks = bag hangover for Saturday / ok by Sunday.

In this case, I really think the 30 day detox resulted in a system shock of sorts.

Could also be hydration and what you ate Saturday to recover too. Low blood sugar, dehydration? Can't really say. And yea, 30 days is a big shock. I recently did a 2 week and found myself buzzed after one beer 🙁

i've had a 2 day hangover plenty of times before, and now that i'm older, i've had it more frequently when i go hard than in my earlier days. usually if i do a full day of drinking i will have a hangover for about 2 days.

well i wouldn't say they were a full 2 days, but it would be a day of feeling like crap, then the next day i still feel kind of odd the first 1/2 of the day and by lunch time or after i'll feel pretty much normal at that point. the last time i can remember having one of these is when i went to the last redskins game i went to a couple years back. started drinking at 9am and didn't leave the parking lot until 7pm. i was feeling it through tuesday.

I've had hangovers that have lasted almost the entire week. A friend, upon me complaining about it, suggested I might have had mild alcohol poisoning and it wasn't just a bad hangover. Granted, I drank quite a bit in a 2 day span.

I would definitely attribute it to not drinking for the month prior. The more you drink, the more your body adapts to being able to tolerate the alcohol (upregulates certain enzymes and processes within the liver and endocrine system), and once you take away the stimulus for that process, it reverts to baseline. I've tested it out multiple times myself.

Interesting.

I rarely drink but when I do most of the time I end up throwing up, as I'm a huge lightweight. Doesn't seem to have gotten worse for me as I age though. I'm very careful to drink plenty of water before I go to bed though.

I had one hang over when I was about 17 that was very nasty. I literally felt like I had the flu for the day but then I was okay the next day.

I've experienced the same thing on many occasions. It seems like you still had alcohol in your blood. A good way to check is hit the cardio machine and if your sweat stinks like ass x 100, its a yes.

Usually after a night of heavy drinking, instead of aspirin, I drink a beer and some chicken broth. After about 2 hours or so, I take a hangover shit. You'll know its a hangover shit after noticing your shit smells x100 worse. After that, 2 cups of water and a 2 hour nap should remedy you in no time.

I used to have bad hangovers in college when I didn't eat nearly as healthy, but now that I'm (ALMOST) 30 and am much healthier overall, the worst I have is a slight headache in the morning. One thing that helps immensely is drinking water whilst partying. Might not seem very "hip," but I'll be damned if it isn't a game-changer.
