just wondering if any of you can get your system to be stable or even boot with such mem timings on yur ddr
i have 2x512mb mushkin pc3500 and the fastest timings i could get it to run at are 2-2-2-6
even with really low mhz and hi voltage the comp won't even turn on if i put a 1 for any of the timings

anyone done it here ??

I just looked in my BIOS settings. The fastest I can go is 1.5-2-2-5.

1.5 failed, even @ 100fsb and 2.8v

2-2-2-5 is the lowest available on my mobo, and it runs 2-3-3-8, normally.

I don't think you can run with a timing of 1 due to the double rate of DDR RAM. Think about it - 2 is 1, but doubled due to the memory accessing on rising and falling. 1 would be .5, but that's not possible.

EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong... :Q

many motherboards have 2-1-1 or 1.5-1-1 these days
i guess they are anticipating higher quality ddr memory
i can only imagine how such timings would affect benchmarks

if anyone here can do it please post some sisoft mem benchs comparing yur fastest timings to 2-2-2-6 at the same clock speed

I would love to see that
i doubt any mem out there can do it right now tho

i have mushkin hi perf black level II which is designed for faster timings than any other mem out there at 2-2-2-6 and even it can't do 3-1-1-11, 3-1-4-11, or 3-4-1-11 at i think i tryed 80mhz with 3v
this surprises me

ideal timings would be 2-1-1-5 or 1.5-1-1-5 i can only imagine the seti times mmmmmm

I'm running my cheapo PC3000 2-2-2-7 @ the moment on a 170fsb 3:4 ratio :p
For some reason though 2-2-2-6(or 5) scores lower in the benchies

well, yeah I think the Asus A7N8X has the option for you to try timings like 2-1-1-5
or even 2-1-1-4

when I tried 2-1-1-6 on my PC3200 LL ram
my computer fail to boot.
so.... I don't think the timings can go so low and stay stable. Even for systems that can boot up at those timings...

maybe if you ran the memory at 100 mhz, but i don't feel like resetting cmos, someone else do it.

1 cas timings are perfectly possible (you can, for instance, enable them on high quality graphic card ram through bios hacks), however, you would need some amazing f'ing ram. 2.8 ns chips work with cas 1 on 9700 pro's i believe.

geez
so basically it looks like there is no current ddr dimms out there that are capable of such timings
as of yet

ohh well

anyone willing to try the lowest clock speed their bios supports with those timings and good voltage ???

that would be great
