What type of transmission?
I had an 89 Accord with a 5-speed manual, and it ran ~2500rpm at 60mph in 5th, and probably 3000 in 4th.

Seems a little high. My 93 i4 camry doesn't get to 3k until about 80mph.
EDIT: Auto 4 speed.

alright, we now have input from 4th gen owners with both 5-speed and auto transmisions (they were the same for all models, and the EX did NOT have a bigger engine, just a version of the same engine that was tuned for more top-end power)... and both would indicate that something isn't right with that accord the OP is driving. i'm going to guess it's an auto and the torque converter isn't locking, or else the OP isn't using D4 on the auto or 5th on the manual.
