Was here a lot earlier my friend. Remember when they remastered ET and replaced the guns with walkie talkies. At least Spielberg admitted it was a dumb idea. 😛
Steven Spielberg said:For myself, I tried [changing a film] once and lived to regret it. Not because of fan outrage, but because I was disappointed in myself. I got overly sensitive to [some of the reaction] to E.T., and I thought if technology evolved, [I might go in and change some things] it was OK for a while, but I realized what I had done was I had robbed people who loved E.T. of their memories of E.T.
Senator Berzelius "Buzz" Windrip, a charismatic and power-hungry politician, is elected President of the United States on a populist platform, promising to restore the country to prosperity and greatness, and promising each citizen $5,000 a year (approximately $80,000, adjusted for inflation[1]). Portraying himself as a champion of traditional American values, Windrip easily defeats his opponents, Senator Walt Trowbridge and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Though having previously stated that some authoritarian measures would need to be put in effect in order to reorganize the United States government, Windrip goes so far as to outlaw dissent, incarcerate political enemies in concentration camps, create a paramilitary force, called the Minute Men, who terrorize citizens and enforce the policies of Windrip and his "corporatist" regime. One of his first acts as President is to eliminate the influence of the United States Congress, which draws the ire of many citizens as well as the legislators themselves. The Minute Men respond to protests against Windrip's decisions harshly, attacking demonstrators with bayonets. In addition to these actions, Windrip's administration, known as the "Corpo" government, curtails women's and minority rights, and eliminates individual states by subdividing the country into administrative sectors. The government of these sectors is managed by "Corpo" authorities, usually prominent businessmen or Minute Men officers. Those accused of crimes against the government are tried in kangaroo courts presided over by "military judges". Despite these dictatorial measures, a majority of Americans approve of them, believing them to be necessary though painful steps to restore American power. Others, those less enthusiastic about the prospect of corporatism, reassure themselves that fascism cannot "happen here"; hence the novel's title
And he's atoning in the BuRay release next month by releasing the original 1982 version and not being a huge dick like Lucas.
blaaaaaaaaaaaahhhblahblah
Fixed. You can get a feel for this every time you point out lies a left-winger has fallen for, and see them just not able to deal with that. It's scary, but peope can buy into lies.
Fixed.
Obama said Bush was unpatriotic for the debt going up $4 trillion in 8 years, while under Obama it's gone up $5 trillion in only 4 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kuTG19Cu_Q
Obama said give him two years to fix the economy then it was 4 years, now it's going to take 8 years. He had his for years, and completely failed.
Seriously, how can anyone be so ignorant and brainwashed enough to vote for him again?
Everybody pack up their dirty underwear and take it back to P&N. This is my thread and it is all about Archie.
It's an interesting issue - why they want to wipe out the cigarette and how they can do it well - but it has nothing to do with your topic, which is about more real 'brainwashing'.
Good idea or bad idea?
Well, for one thing, it displays the success of the education program against smoking (a government program by the way, to save lives, against the tobacco companies).
You don't want too much 'censorship', but on this cigarette - seems ok to me.
Craig calm down. Have a beer.
waaah waaaaah
You don't understand how brainwashing works. Brainwashed people have a hard time understanding it.

Waaaaaaaaaah
I hate anybody to the left of Mao.
Idiot. The anti-smoking crusade is a left wing thing. How did you end up blaming the right wing for it? Go kill yourself. __________________
Revisionist history is the worst kind of lie. Without knowing the real past, you can't know the real present.
No, you're just being the brainwashed right-winged I mentioned. Let's see how you do.
Bush inherited a balanced budget; Obama inherited the worst economic crash since the great depression neeeding massive government involvement to stabilize it.
That government intervention to stabilize in a crash is the standard response to every crash, by both parties - until this time when Republicans tried to deny most help to Obama.
So, the two of them inherited, and spent, in very different situations. That matters. Pretty much all of Obama's deficit spending is from Bush programs, as well.
So why doesn't Obama just get rid of the Bush programs? Ya, that'll pass the Republicans (including their phony 'veto' in the Senate). He wanted to repeal the biggest deficit-increasing policy, the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy - shock, the Republicans held the nation hostage to fight him on it.
So, you don't have much point.
Some truth to that; his estimates were overly optimistic, but they assumed his policies actually were passed; who knows if they'd have come true?
We sure don't, because Republicans blocked nearly all of his policies. So, ya, without his policies passed, the benefits of those policies don't happen.
Not much point again.
What we DO know is that the corporatist policies - some since Reagan, some passed under Clinton and Bush - and various things led to that huge crash under Bush.
And they led to the hugely corrupt response to the crash, where money was funneled to - surprised - the worst company Goldman Sachs, by their previous chairman.
Obama has done wrong there too - but his wrongs are more things like not prosecuting the crimes of the crash, not causing it.
Republicans - surprise - have also blocked any stronger new regulations to prevent another crash and limit Wall Street's taking 40% of all the profit in the economy.
And who is the guy who will stand up for the people to Wall Street? Mitt Romney and Kid Rand, good call!
Now, let's give you some facts to respond to - and answer your uninformed question.
Read the following list of Obama achievments, and then say why it has no reason to vote for him.

As for brainwashing, the only brainwashing here is people like you - who of course can't understand that and just throw the word back at Obama voters.
It's like the racists saying "I'm not a bigot, YOU'RE a bigot". Or like people who cheat on their spoused and then accuse their non-cheating spouse of cheating.
You don't understand how brainwashing works. Brainwashed people have a hard time understanding it.
But you show the normal response - you utterly fail to respond to the lies by Republicans - just as I predicted - and lacking anything useful to say post a weak attack.
