You can insult me, my family, my country or my god, but never my graphics card. We must duel.

Nah, you want to dual... get that 6600GT in SLi ;)

Does the OP have a wireless keyboard/mouse? Had similar lag/stuttering in certain games with a wireless setup.

What I'm wondering is if he forgot to attatch the power cable to the card from the PSU, or if he just put the card in the PCIE slot and left it like that.
I did that once, and Windows booted up find and I could launch games, but man were they slow. Only took me 10 seconds of a game to realize what I had done wrong.

This thread made me

I think newer cards (esp. the x1900xtx) require the power cable to boot or atleast my x1900xt did.

That's what I'm thinking too. Cause I remember a thread (maby it was you) who said performace sucked. I then replied with one of the (stupid) things people do is forget the PSU 6pin PCIe cable.

Anyway, to OP, on the 2nd. and 7th page is a list of things to check out and do. (along with instructions to reinstall drivers.

Still sitting in the box, cuz its gonna run fear from inside a box isnt it.... he was using a 6600GT. Only after about 4 pages did somone bring up the fact his sig sais 6600gt.

I feel so much dumber for reading this whole thread. I'm surprised he even knew how to build a computer.

Original Poster, please - for the love of god, answer these questions, update your 'Topic Summary' indicating these questions have been answered and put them in your First Post (Edit it).

1) Is the card you have INDEED a X1900XTX?
2) Is it plugged into your motherboard, and is there a PCIe power cable plugged into to it?
3) Have you tried a clean install?
4) Have you installed the latest nforce4 drivers?
5) Have you installed the latest ATi Catalyst drivers?
6) Have you installed AntiSpyware to check for spyware that might be eating up CPU-time? (Moot point since clean install but check it still)
7) Have you installed an Anti-Virus software that has real-time scanning enabled? (And for the record, Windows Firewall doesn't affect performance in ANY way)
8) What is your 3DMark05/06 score? (At default settings)
9) Have you benchmarked any games with their full retail, patched-to-the-latest versions? Post a screenshot of F.E.A.R's in-built stress test results with everything set to max @ 1280x960, 4XAA, 16XAF, No Soft Shadows and Physics set to minimum.
10) Answer all the people who have asked you questions.

FACT: Paired with 2GB RAM and even a low-end Athlon64, The X1900XTX will play ANY game out there with in-game max settings, 4X AA, 16AF to even a hardcore cynic's satisfaction. (Oblivion may require tweaking).

1) The card is indeed a 1900XTX.
2) The cable is probably plugged in, not sure.
3) Formatted both drives. Installed xp again. Installed latest drivers again. Problem still persists.
4) Yes
5) Yes
6) No
7) No
8) 3d mark 2005 free edition at default settings gave me 9000+
9)No, for some reason I can't patch any game. But Quake 4 demo is fine at 12X10 High(ultra not supported) 4x AA, also, why soft shadows off and why to keep pyhsics to minimum, even with a 6600GT and 7600GT physic is kept to max and with 7600GT no problems at 10X7 MAX no soft shadows

I must be invisible or something. YGPM (you got PM), check it, it's from this thread.

TRY THE WARCAT MODIFIED DRIVERS (and make sure you install them right). Thats what they were created for, to fix certain issues, that you could have.

Oh, and "Not Sure" with the 6-pin PCIe cable? WTF? Thats important, check again.
