And crappy LCDs do indeed suck. However, I dare say my Dell 2407WFP is better than 75% of the CRTs out there.
And I do love actually having desktop space on my desktop. I had a Sony 19" Trinitron (actually still have it...it's in storage). I loved it until it got old (after about 9 years) and took awhile to warm up. Until it did, the picture was a bit fuzzy. It also developed a high-pitched squeal at the 100Hz refresh rate I liked. It weighs about 60 pounds, gives off heat like a furnace and occupies about 6 square feet of desktop space.
You were saying something about CRTs being better?
Yeah, I know; superior blacks, more filmlike picture etc. I am big into HT, so I know all about it.
But now that I've been LCDs for a few years I could never see myself going back.
I hope the OP finds what he wants.
