Ok boys and girls,
I am here to vent my frustration with a certain Staples CSR named Mohammed. I spent about 1/2 hr with this guy and got nothing accomplished. I start by asking for a pricematch with Onvia.com, he puts me on hold to go check the price and comes back to tell me that he can't pricematch because under the staples description, it comes with a 3yr warranty, and the onvia.com one doesn't state it. He wants to add $80 for that. I spend the longest time trying to explain to him that the warranty is a manufacturer warranty, but he says he doesn't see it. I finally get him to admit that he is wrong, but he says that there are much more differences in the items. I tell him its the same damn item, but his reasoning is, it can't be, thats why ours is $524 as opposed to $399 at Onvia.com. He then goes on to say that the staples version of the monitor has anti-glare because it is listed as a feature. He says the Onvia.com model doesn't, so he says I need to add $30 for the anti-glare screen. Again, I try to explain that the anti-glare is a coating on the screen that Viewsonic uses when they make the monitor. His reply "I know what anti-glare is, I wear glasses!" At this point, I was sooo pissed and questioned him why he makes it so damn hard to pricematch. He says he is very meticulous about his work, and that other people were wrong for getting away with it. I asked him to justify why I would have to pay $500+ while others paid under $300, but he said he's doing his job. I was going to work with him and see if he'd budge until he mentioned another difference. This time, he says that the staples monitor comes with a POWER CORD AND VIDEO CABLE! At this point, I went bezerk and was about pull my hair out. I tells him that I am an MCSE, MCP+I, CCA, and A+ Tech, and I know what I'm talking about when it comes to computers. They all come packaged with power cords and video cables, but he still wanted to charge me for them. His supervisor had the same reasoning too, and at one point said, "I'm not even going to argue with you". I told Mohammed, if he were so damn meticulous, then I want a different CSR, and he says that he's going to make notes on my account with what we went thru, so calling any other CSR would do no good. What an ASS! I told him to forget it...and hung up. Called back, got this friendly chick who got my order pricematched and applied 4 coupons in less than 10mins. Total price after shipping is about $307. I know I should have hung up on the first CSR right when he started giving me trouble, but my experience is just here to remind you guys not to even hesitate for one second. If you get an ASS, just hang up, don't waste your time. :disgust:
