Prices of lithium ion batteries are projected to keep going up too. They need to open at least 30 more mines to keep up with demand.

I really think they need to start focusing on finding an alternate battery tech that uses more common minerals that are also easier to mine/process.

They've been spending billions or more dollars trying, world-wide with a big urgency, it's the next holy grail in batteries due to the mandates for EV vehicles, but despite all the latest/greatest breakthroughs, it's always either lower energy density, or prohibitively expensive to make.
