Hi... In november im going to spend quite a few money on some new hardware... Below you can see my present ideas for a new computer... Plz give any suggestions you might have for changes... just remember I can't be much more expensive...

Im looking for at fast, OC-freindly and silent computer...
Im not so much of a 3D gamer so 6800LE should cover my needs 🙂

CPU
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ S393 0.09 Micron

CPU-Køler
Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu

Bundkort
MSI K8N-NEO2-PLATIUM - nForce3

Ram
Corsair Twinx1024-3200XL 2x512 MB PC400

Grafikkort
MSI NX6800LE-TD128, 6800LE, 128MB,

Grafikkort køler
Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer nVidia 5

Harddisk
2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB, SATA150

Kabinet
SilverStone Temjin SST-TJ05S-T, Silver

PSU
Coolermaster RealPower PSU 450W

Looks good, although I personally wouldn't buy an MSI motherboard. Some love them, some hate them - I've seen way too many go wrong for my liking.

"fast RAM" does nothing for the athlon64, you are wasting well over a hundred bucks on that RAM. buy some cheap value 3200, it will save you tons of money and there is no performance hit.

Hmmm... I do intend to overclock... And as far I know - I need some kickass memory! Correct me if I am wrong?

Not necessarily kickass, but you'll need something faster than PC3200.

Correct me if im wrong 🙂 ... This memory kit can easily be clocked much higher... so they are surely fast enough...

If the overclock is guaranteed, then yes. However, they are rated at PC3200, which means the manufacturer guarantees PC3200 speeds, nothing more. Anything more you get out of them is a bonus, but you should never bank on something overclocking to a certain level, or disappointment will surely follow.

Don't worry too much about LL (Low Latency) kits, just get some decent PC3700+ sticks and you'll be much better off, knowing that you can take them to PC3700 speeds without worrying if they're the weakest link when it comes to overclocking.

Words of Wisdom here.

Most definitely go with some good OCZ with a high speed rating if you plan on overclocking. This will definitely give you a much better performance increase over lower latency RAM with the Athlon 64 due to the memory controller being in the CPU itself. I also agree with changing the video card to a 6800Gt. You can overclock that to Ultra speeds pretty easily as well!
