17 Innings & Counting. Over After 22

The Colorado Rockies are playing at the San Diego Padres tonight, and the game has gone in to numerous extra innings. It was 0-0 up to the 14th where each team scored a run, now it's in the 17th still at 1-1. The local time is 11:40pm so everyone is nodding off, including the cleaning staff waiting to get started with their jobs.😛

Anyone want to take a guess at how many more innings this game will go?

Just got home from the Mets/Nationals extra-inning game myself a little while ago & heard the update after it almost ended in the 14th ... no idea if its on here in CT but I'm going to go take look.

I'm just going off of Yahoo... but they had a guy on 3rd with 1 out and looks like they grounded out to 2nd without scoring the run. Please get that last out and make this game even longer

edit: fly out woohoo.. I wish they broadcast it here

Just an interesting tidbit, the longest MLB game was 25 innings between the Brewers and White Sox on May 8, 1984. Sox won 7 to 6

And we're going in to the 18th.

This can't go on for too much longer, the MLB rules say no new innings after 1am. So at most they're going to finish a 20th or 21st inning if this keeps going.

I remember in 2006, there were two 18 inning games on the same day!

One of them was the Cubs/Astros. I stayed up to watch that one.

I'd like to see a box score that beats this in terms of defense, though.. the record game was 7-6 but this was only 1-1 at the 14th inning.

no curfew for the national league!

edit: i cant believe ive been watching since the first inning. ive already watched 'earl' on my dvr in between innings, guess ill start on 'the office' now.

Did I hear that right? The 1am rule doesn't apply here? Damn, we're going to be up all night. I can't stop watching, it's like a train wreck in slow motion.

Edit: Beaten

Looks like this is an AL rule.
