Glendon Rusch is in to pitch for the Padres. As a Cubs fan, I can confidently say this game is over.

I've got to wonder if this is an intentional "I wanna go to fucking sleep" move by the manager.

What's really funny is that Colorado has to fly to Houston and San Diego has to fly to Arizona tomorrow for evening games.

I think they'll each call up a AAA pitcher to start those games.

koooooooooooooooooooooooooz

edit: bottom of the 20th c'mon pads!

edit2: those all-you-can-eat seats in the western metal supply seats are getting their money's worth tonight.

Noooooo, Maddux is pitching Fri night. He'll only give you six innings usually. Young got bumped to Sat, but he can give 8 innings when he's healthy. Oh well, a quick flight to Phoenix is better than to Houston.

Ok, I just had a weird thought.

Put in Maddux in the 21st. That would be amazing if he got his 350th win in a 21inn+ game.

and maddux has to throw to a rookie catcher, morton. no way bard catches tomorrow night. in fact its amazing that both starting catchers are still in this now.

Fisk caught all 25 innings of that game I linked above.

that would be cool. but i think they already sent maddux to arizona when it went extra so he could get a good nights rest. of course i could be wrong and we'll be seeing him in the on-deck circle in the 24th inning.

I wish I could be seeing this on TV.. are they taking a noticeably short time between pitches now? Or still stepping out of the box, spitting, adjusting their groins and whatnot?

catch 25 innings, will a home run ball in the 12th inning to go fair... is there anything the guy cant do?

its ok, they can just put maddux in there. i mean the guy has 17 gold gloves. he can handle the hot corner for a few innings.

He'll win it on a bunt too.

double play and here comes 22. i blame paul mcanulty... if he only would've stopped for a double in the 13th inning...

This game is like the perfect storm.. double plays after every single, and any open window for scoring means the pitcher comes up to bat.
