160GB SATA Western Digital HDD $6.95 A/Rebate @ Circuit City

Circuit City has the Western Digital 160GB SATA HDD listed on the shelf tag @ $46.95 with a $40 MIR for a total after rebate price of $6.95. The shelf tag was printed 9/30 and listed the sale from 10/1 to 10/7. This is not consistent with the price listed on their website nor is it listed in their weekly sales ad, so it may ultimately be a mistake (though the manager told me the price was correct).

I bought one and did not receive a rebate form, so I inquired about it. After bouncing between two additional CSRs, I was sent to a manager. Nobody could figure out why the rebate wouldn't print, so I was issued a refund of the rebate amount!

Total price OUT THE DOOR (including tax) was $7.44!

OMFG! That is a sweet deal. Will have to check it out tomorrow.

Edit: Of course the one near me doesn't even have this particular drive.

Don't know if the rebate would go through since it would be more than your purchase price.

I won't even attempt it because I know it would be denied. Thanks for finding this though. Those who buy one and don't get the form or an instant credit/price adjustment can use it. I just hope this isn't a price mistake and others get denied.

I would just because if you get it, it would propel you to god status. Being paid $30 for a HD is hotter than hot. 😀

not claiming any status but got paid $30 once by CC for helping them reduce their inventory by 3x30 blank TDK(USA stampings) cd spindles and got paid by Nero $20 for going Nero 7(retail box w/upgrader rebate after 2 pms was $0 from compusa) even tho I've since uninstalled 7 and gone back to 6 🙁

Looks like their site shows it as $59 after $40 rebate. I guess their store just printed it wrong. I would go check my local CC but it's too far away to be worth it.

Website shows $99.99 - $40 rebate(s) = total price AR= $59.99 Not hot...
OP definitely got lucky. I doubt any of these drives will scan at $49.99. Not worth a drive to CC to find out first hand.

On the shelf here in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for $46.95, but with no rebate from the store.

I picked one up, and am currently sending in rebate form that was provided in the thread.

Thanks for the heads up on the deal!
