Did you use the camera flash? They're reflections off dust. If you dont' believe me, find a dusty cushion or blanket, wave it around and take a picture with the flash turned on.

It's not the size of your head. It's light reflecting off dust that's probably close to the lense. If you're moving around outside in an old, abandoned area, then yes, there will probably be dust.
