Last time I hiked on the AT, in North Carolina (no, I wasn't a through hiker, just short segments), I blew out my knee so bad I had to butt sit my way down four miles and 2000 vertical feet into town. Hope she gets better soon and is able to continue.

My girlfriend (dream2hike on these forums) is hiking the Oregon trail. She started two weeks ago, and she hurt herself a few days ago - it seems that she has been overcome with dysteria. She took the day off today to go to the doctors , but it's too deep to attempt to ford the river. She doesn't have enough money for the ferry either! Hoping for the best and hoping this'll only be a few day thing and she can get started again!

Anyway, just keep her in everyone's thoughts! Thanks!

Fixed.
Epic win - but was it actually dysentery?

She took the day off today to go to the doctors (which down there is the hospital at this point). Hoping for the best and hoping this'll only be a few day thing and she can get started again!

Anyway, just keep her in everyone's thoughts! Thanks!

Have we run out of stuff to post about? Wow.

The AT is interesting. Good timing on the ankle though. Hasn't it been raining on the rain on the rain over there?

Is she really hiking in those sandals in the pictures? No wonder she hurt her ankle. My hiking boots make it so that my ankle can hardly move at all, so I don't even think it would be possible for me to injure it. Ankle support is especially important when wearing a backpack.
  • Sandals + 2,178 miles of hiking + backpack = epic fail
But, I hope she's OK nonetheless.

Nah, she's using boots.

Oh good! I'm amazed to see what footwear people wear hiking sometimes, and I thought this was one of those cases. I didn't want to believe that someone would plan over a 2,000-mile hike and not have the forethought to wear some good boots, so I'm glad I was wrong about that.

That's my girlfriend. Not fun to joke dude. Not cool.

Look, go ahead and kill her off in some tragic story, get outed and banned culminating in an internet sensation that makes it on The Register. It's been done so just save us the time.

i'll pray for her twisted ankle.

Well, twisted is better than sprained right? When you're hiking 15 miles per day, a small injury can really take a toll 🙁

dear god help us. It's clear who the chick is in this relationship.

let her enjoy her time away from you and stop chronicalizing her life for her.

It'd be creepy to me.
