So how long before that would happen? That's really what the main question is.

FWIW one of my Mormon friends who doesn't believe in, uh, self-release I guess - tells me that he has this problem somewhat often.
But does he experience BB first? IOW, it is bad for it to get to the point where it releases on its own?

I doubt it. BB is usually from heavy stimulation without release.
