i actually joined in 1999 but my account got smashed in the server crash.
Me too, but I didn't create new account till years later and used a different name.

I remember all the old guys, ViperGTS, Skoorb, MadIndian, Hazeleyedgirl, Isla, RedDawn

17 years here. It doesn't really seem like yesterday. In fact, I can't remember yesterday.

I can't believe how long it was. Actually registered even before 1999, I think they either had a major forum overhaul or I lost my username and had to create a new one. Might have even had an altavista or netzero email then.

Is my 9800 PRO still good? You guys recommended it highly ~12 years ago, tech is like wine and gets better over time right?

Been lurking the AT site since it's inception just for current computer building news. Wasn't aware of the forum till late '98/early '99 and began reading most of the postings. Saw the forum reboot happening and accounts closed, mine included.
Re-registering wasn't a top priority of mine since AT was just one of the tech websites I regularly visit amongst others. Then someone posted a question and I wanted to comment. The rest is history.

Only time and will tell how long this forums last with the new ownership. 15 years is just a blink in time.

I missed mine. I was here in 99, but whatever went on with the server and whatnot, and I re-enlisted in January 2000.

lol, the year 2020 is in 5 years.

And still! Today a Mars base we have not
nor flying cars that crowd the skies; T’is shame!
Illustrious dreams skyward wither in
bureaucracy, where aspiration dies.

:awe: a pome!

we really should have a huge southwest, northwest, midwest, northeast, southeast meetup. I've been to a few for the car club and other forums I belong to and they are way smaller than AT but they have a bunch of functions and group meetings.

I think that I still have the AllInWonder version of that card in storage somewhere. Man that thing was rubbish.

It has been 5,625 days for me. At least since the forums transitioned over and I had to register again.

to all -- so, if this place ever goes under, do you continue participating in forums elsewhere or is this it for the foruming era and all chatter moves to places like facebook and such?

or

If this place sticks around for another 15 years, do you think you'll be here to reply in one of these posts in that time?

I don't think this place could go under, as long as moonbog and brainhulk continue posting every fucking thought that crosses their mind.
