Seriously here, if Iran executes these sailors and marines, and Britain ends up embroiled in a war with Iran, are we going to jump in, and where does that leave Afghanistan and Iraq, and the state of our military, and there equipment?

It's a tough world we live in, but we'll just have to nuke their kids.

And then somebody will have to nuke ours, and maybe in 10,000 years, out of the radiation and mutations, a more intelligent species will arise.

One could only hope....

The thing is, Iran is going to get pounded, that's probably almost a fact. It remains though to be seen how.
Israel has been very hesitant to use its force during their last campaign in Lebanon, which led to them paying a fairly high price in terms of casualties and damages. It is commonly acceptable to assume Israel has enough nukes to make most of Iran uninhabitable for the next 50 years or so, while this is a possibility, I don't see Israel taking such a severe measure just yet. If you factor in the fact that Israel is fairly limited on delivering a limited strategic blow (i.e. just damage strategic facilities rather than total destruction) over such a distance, you can rule out Israeli preemptive strike. They are just going to sit this one, and observe closely, they'll only step in when they'll think we're messing it up.
The other alternative which looks like is the one that's going to happen any day now or up to a couple of months from now, is a U.S + coalition (namely England) strike on all Iranians facilities, one of the main goals will be eliminating ASAP Iran's capabilities of long range missiles launch, if they are able to launch anything towards Israel and hit it, you can say Hello nukes, goodbye Iran.

All of the above is a fairly optimistic scenario, Iran is probably fairly powerful, I am afraid that a full scale war with that country is not going to be a walk in the park.
Maybe because of its power, Iran should be more careful, because no matter how strong they are, the forces they are facing are much stronger, and they should go visit Hiroshima or Nagasaki to learn what happens when a bigger power than you is fed up with your sh!t.

You and Jethro got the truck gassed up and the rifles loaded?

Because right now, you two are the only guys beating the war drum.

I'm sorry you got that impression from what I said.
What I was saying was what I think is going to happen. What I wish would happen is a little different. I do wish to see Iran disarmed and/or its current insane regime being overthrown, though I would like this to happen in a peaceful manner.
You ask me if I think its going to happen in a peaceful way? My above answer was clear.
I think war should avoided as long as possible. This war cannot be avoided since it was already initiated by the evil, running away from it now is not an option, and would've been pointless anyway.

Whoops, thought I was a mindless Neo-Con for a second. Sorry. 😱

Haha, yeah, dim the lights... I'll have the pop corn ready!!! On with the show!

They said on the news that the British soldiers wanted to go rescue them, but thier higher-us refused. I think Iran should be punished for this behavior. You are damn right if it were US soldiers there would be a different outcome. In the 80's, Iran was trying to lay sea mines in the same reqion and Reagan sent our boys over there and we basicly wasted the Iranian Navy.

Who benefits the most from a war in Iraq?

Israel

Who benefits the most from a war in Iran?

Israel

The Jews have fooled the American public once again into fighting their war.

Hailburton (soon no longer pay US tax), private contractors ripping off taxpayers love more wars.

I heard that Haliburton had moved it's corporate HQ to Bermuda so that it wouldn't have to pay US taxes.

This doesn't make sense. If anything it will put Israel's national security at risk.

Ummm what Iran did is an act of war under International Law. Any retaliation by the UK would be justified and backed by International Law and the UN.

If Iran doesnt give their British hostages back to the UK in a timely matter this situation will escalate.

If its was in Iraqi waters, yes. If not, the no. I wonder how long the Brits will wait, until they do something about it. If they can see them and otherwise keep in contact with them, maybe forever?

Last I checked Iran isnt allowing their hostages to contact the British Embassy. Which is ALSO quite illegal under international law.

Posted in another thread.. The news reports have said that this kidnapping was conducted by the wing of their armed forces that is controlled by the Shah or Highest Religious Ruler of Iran.. NOT their President..

That I didnt know, but I believe they are in the process to let diplomats see them.

Executive Office of the USS Underwood (worked with the HMS Cornwall) had some things to say about this incident here.

Sounds like everyone is itching for a war, and they're gonna get it. Meh.

Give it a few months and they will send a few suckers over into Iranian waters to start a war.

It'd be better if they dropped your ass over there.

No, the reality is that you and your ilk are a bunch of sick, demented freaks.

The british could take on Iran if they wanted to. Never underestimate the British. We could starting laying mines in their waters right now. However, it could ruin the port and then you dont get any OIL. In the long run the middle east is all about the OIL!

They are demented, but so are the people who are lapping up Iran's BS reasons to make Nukes and Kidnap soliders.

I can't say their reasons for wanting nukes are BS. They have American soldiers on 3 sides and nukes are the only thing that can guarantee them safety.
