Well, I finally got in contact with my buddy. He said they've hit a little speed bump...but this are *close*. He said id is really going for stability and wants to roll out several versions of the game at once (languages, not platforms I take it). They're trying to make sure its stable as hell I guess. But, he's really busy so we didnt talk much....
 
I am glad they are taking there time, unlike some other game companies i could mention that rush products out the door and then take their time w/ patches.

Did you do the BIOS flash to a 9800XT?

Mine did and runs flawlessly @ XT speeds with OverDrive enabled and reasonable temps . . . almost a 10% perf improvement for 2 mins "work". 😉

(16,600 in 3Dmark01 and 6400 in '03 . . . 'good enuff' for HL2/D3/FarCry/ThiefIII/DeuSexII/Painkiller, etc.)

Don't worry, (even) a 9700 will run Doom III just fine. 😉

if its true then VERY EXCITING!!!!

heh btw, to see the Proxycon 3dmark demo running at like 100fps...made me even more excited for doom 🙂
 
Out of curiosity, do these preorders offer a DVD version, or are these just CD versions? Having the little statue would be cool, but not if I have to swap discs.

Also, anyone know of a site that lists which sites that offer preorders with unique statues? The BestBuy, Eb, and Gamestop all seem to have different statues with their preorders.

Gameplanet (NZ) has a Mancubus figurine and Tshirt, with PC CDROM distro.
 
I pre-ordered a few days ago with ebgame.com for my copy of Doom3 with overnight delivery. 2 day shipping was free but I figure it will be worth the extra $10 to have it before the masses do... I did this with Quake3 and I was online playing it with the developers when my copy came! 🙂

Can't wait... my system should run it well too, 3.4Ghz, 9800Pro, yeah baby!

I could care less which figurine comes with it... maybe I will ebay that to some nerd that wants to collect them all. lol

I hope that you're not too far back in the order string. You might not get it until a few weeks after. I speak from experience. GL though.

AFAIK they're CD versions unless otherwise stated i.e. UT2K4.

I hope not either but I only pre-ordered the Quake3 game a few days before it was set to ship and I got it as soon as anybody was able to. I think that when this game is finally shipped they will dump a LOAD of product on their distributors.

It wouldn't surprise me to know that they are stamping out the disks and loading the boxes for release now. 😉

Word from the bird says that the game is pressing as we speak. Can I confirm this? No. Is it a lie? Mayhaps. But I do have THIS for you to see
