Question for everyone, what's a decent speed for mp3 players??? Does it really affect the performance???

speed has little, if any, effect on mp3 players. if the player is used to transfer, that will usually be the bottleneck. If you can use a separate reader, it might help... but IMO, for mp3 players, you can wait a bit more, not a big need for speed like digital cameras (depending on what you do of course).

<< Now you know why AMEX is stopping the program!!! >>

Come on now that's ridiculous. You make it sound like everyone took advantage of their pm policy. There are people out there that found items cheaper and got a legit pm.

<< btw: hey... you could probably do an AMEX PM on this huh??? buy it for 60-70$ elsewhere and PM it to the 39$ price... i guess that's a very small amt for PMing though, but you could give it a try anyway (since BVG will be gone for good soon). >>

What would the point of this be, just to save $5???

What would the point of this be, just to save $5???

actually if you were to buy this from buy.com for 60.95$ (not including S&H), you would be saving a little over 20$ -
60.95$(plus s&h) - 39$... amex bvg requires the differences in amts to be over 10$ anyway...

Now you know why AMEX is stopping the program!!!

maybe so, but AMEX probably stopped the program because of two major reasons: 1) lots of ppl PMing against greymarket sites and 2) overwhelming responses of people applying for PMs. i mean, come on now, you have to agree that sooner or later AMEX would have had to pull this deal down anyway because of all the checks they've sent out.

jplee3, I guess you don't understand what I'm saying. Why would you buy it for $60 or $70 when you can get it for $39 plus shipping? It makes no sense to pm this particular item. You're not gonna come out ahead on this deal. All you'll be doing is waiting for Amex to give you back $20 bucks that you could have already saved.

heres how many ppl take advantage of it... buy it from a place more expesive but w/ cheaper or free shipping and then pm, and the usual pm and rebate combo.

- well, i bought it from outpost anyway, but shipping is basically 10$ more (so it's like 49$ after s&h and taxes)... i guess i was thinking in terms of a penny-pincher: "if you want the straight 39$ price (after AMEX mails you a check back for the difference)...." (i thought AMEX disregards the s&h fees...?)

you could buy from elsewhere to avoid shipping and tax
that should be a good enough reason to use BVG

I wonder if this is much faster than the memory on the Kodak DC3200 I got at CC last week. Probably doesn't matter, but it would be nice if the memory came with the usb reader cable that some of the other Lexar products come with.

<< OHH! just called Lexar (since the Outpost CSR told me to) and the Lexar CSR confirmed that this card IS a 4x CF Card!!! i just placed the order... decent price for something faster than 2x!
>>

How would Lexar know what Outpost is selling?

Are you sure the Lexar CSR wasn't confused and meant that they are selling the 4x online (at their Lexar Media Online Store)?

jplee, I understood exactly what you were trying to say. What I'm saying is you'll be lucky if you come out ahead on this deal by pming with Blue. It's not like the Staples scanner deal where we got paid to buy it (because of the rebate).

what a piece of crap - Outpost got back to my inquiry saying that the card is actually 2x not 4x (so the Lexar guy really had no idea what he was talkin about)... - thanks for confirming with the pic rob4128. well, Outpost has a 30-day return warranty, so it's either gonna be a refused shipment or a return for them.... : /

I am supposed to get mine today, did anyone open it yet? Can you confirm that it is Lexar? I am having it delivered to my brothers (no tax). If it is not the advertised one (atleast OEM) then maybe i'll return it.

Got my Smartmedia card today. Packaged identical to the CF pic above. I don't really care what it looks like, as long as it doesn't lag my digital camera I'm getting soon.

BTW, I don't think that Smartmedia cards come in 2X, 4x, 16x, etc....do they? Does that mean they are naturally slower than CF cards?

TigerDirect has the REAL lexar 128MB 4x CF for 49.99. Just PM using it with AMEX for the 59.99 deal with compusa sometime back with a 15 MIR. $35 is a great deal.

I thought maybe I could use this for a better PM, but the outpost's page lacks any detail info that AMEX needs such as model number and the likes. Also outpost's page doesn't even show a pic of it so I doubt PM with amex will work with this.

if the patents belong to lexar, it's prolly just an OEM.. but is it 2x or 4x?? altho, it might not matter if the s330 can't write to it fast enough... that's one thing that manufac's don't ever really say... how fast it'll write to the media.

airborne came this morning at 9:30am and i just refused the shipment.... i didn't wanna take the chance of this card being a 2x and deal with the hassle of repackaging and waiting to ship it back out. that the pic you posted, rob4128, doesn't look too promising though...
