Mine came today

Looks like the pic above and has only the info iceblade listed. Invoice says LEXAR. Tried it out in my HP318 - worked fine though. It says I have 139 of the highest quality pics available on the card. So far - so good

i don't think it not working will be a problem. as the other guy said, the patents are lexar's, so it's most likely just a lexar OEM. the only thing left is, is it 2x or 4x. And that may or may not matter to you depending on your camera and how you plan on transfering pics from the card (in camera, or by usb reader)

I have benchmarked this card's transfer speed using SiSoft Sandra. Click here for Lexar's explanation of what 2x, 4x, etc. means. To sum it up, Lexar compares the speed of their CF cards to CD-ROM transfer speeds. A 1x CD-ROM transfers at 150kB/s. Hence, If this card were 4x, it should transfer around 600kB/s.

The results I got from Sandra suggest that this at least a 4x card and possibly an 8x card. Take a look at the results for yourself right here.

would it not require 1200kb/s to qualify for 8x... with almost 900 we can safely call it a 6x I guess... but def, 4x. Thats cool.

Works just fine in my Lexar Jumpshot USB reader. Seems fast enough in my Kodak 3400. I'm satisfied but it was a bit of a misrepresentation on Outpost's part.

Hmm, did anyone else notice that they call the CF an OEM CF now and not the lexar? I was going to jump on this but really want the lexar because I've got the jumpshot reader.

lnguyen,

If you happen to have one of Lexar's "Jumpshot" adapters, you could verify if it is actually Lexar. I received one "free" when I purchased some lexar media a year ago. It's pretty handy, enough so that I will select Lexar when possible...just make sure the media reads "USB Enabled".

Please let me know how this works out. I have two on back order which I will cancel in a heartbeat if it is not Lexar.

Just reviewed the pic and the packaging is consistent with other Lexar media that I have purchased which was "bulk". Exact same blister pack.

Yes, 8x would mean 1200kB/s but I am assuming my USB reader is hindering performance. I think it is safe to say that this card is somewhere between 4x and 8x. I am very satisfied with this purchase after initial worry.

Its been tested, benched, and works on a USB jumpshoot - so I've gotta believe its a Lexar. Those speeds seem pretty good. I don't think my S330 will max it out or anything. Too bad I just got this:

"Thank you for your order! We apologize but the item(s) you
ordered is currently out of stock and we are unable to provide a
definite ship date at this time. However, we continually receive
new merchandise in our warehouse and we hope to fulfill your
order within the next thirty days or sooner if possible.

At this time, your order is still pending and will ship as soon
as the item(s) is in stock. Your order number is J######## ."

Called outpost to complain they shipped a generic one instead of lexar. CSR told me I can return it, then I said if it works i can keep it, if they can give me some credit. Guess what, she gave me $10 credit. $29.95 for a not too bad CF card, not too bad!
