I'd orefered from Amazon last week but then I got notice it would be 2 weeks before it shipped so I cancelled the order. I then ordered from Newegg but they didn't want to ship to an address that was not the same as the billing address so I had to cancel that order to.

I did order the item you linked and I hope there's no problems with this order. Adding 128GB to my new Note4 with 32GB built in giving me 160GB of total storage which should hold a good bit of media.

Sweet! Really thinking about getting one of these.

I wonder if Apple would be leaping straight up to 64GB and 128GB if not for the possibility of the competition to have massive storage options like this?

I mean, 160GB total storage on a phone is so much in another universe of storage, that a max of 16 even 32 GB is just pathetic by comparison, and 8GB is unthinkable.

Personally, I can't wait for the day my mobile device has several TB in my pocket. It will not only be my communications center, but also my portable 'always with me' file backup for home and office.

Yes, and it still amazes me that some/many on this very board scoff at the idea that you'd want or need more than 16GB of storage given the cloud. Let them pay for data!

I had a 1TB HD in my laptop to hold only my digital images and needed to upgrade to the slim (9.5mm) 2TB drives when they became available and now have more than 1TB on it. If you take a lot of high res pictures or shoot much video you can go through a sh1t ton of storage real easy. What is 4K video eating -- something over 40GB/hour?

You don't need every image with you though. You may want to have them all stored locally with you at all times, but you don't need it.

As a logical backup solution that's already with you anyway, why not?

I like having irreplaceable photos and videos backed up in redundant locations, my smartphone should just be another of them.

I don't see any logical reason not to expect smartphone capacity to begin to match laptop capacity... most people are using the exact same files anyway (music, photos, books, media) and starting to want a closer approximation in computing power too.

Most people would probably laugh at a 16GB/32GB laptop in 2014 (hey you don't need all your files with you!) But a 16GB/32GB 'smartphone' is plenty?
 
Its useless to argue with them. They don't see the value at this point and 5 years from now when we actually have terabytes on our phones they'll also have, and use, hundreds of GB's on there phone and be laughing at anyone wanting 2TB.

And so it goes.

That is a simple fix by simply calling the card issuer and adding the other address to the account. I've done this with great success as my billing address is a USPS Box and the shipping addresses are that POB and my home.

I don't NEED any image with me so I could get away with 8GB -- right?

Why should I have to limit what I have? If the technology permits why would you chose to limit what you have?

I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Newegg and in the end THEY would not ship to a different address, the CC company was OK with it -- I'd called them first.

I order online and ship to hotels all the time -- I know the process, but some companies just don't want to ship to an alternate address and others will only ship to an alternate address if it's a legitimate business address (ie, not a hotel).

Brian if you have the card in your note 4, can you please install the app A1 SD bench, and test the card? I'm dying to see if the note 4 takes advantage of the speed of the card.

Isn't it sad we had 160gig mp3 players 7 years ago, and we're still struggling at having that capacity available again? I know flash memory is awesome and all... but it seems like we haven't been making leaps in capacity for a while now.

I said you don't need every image you've taken, clearly different than saying you don't need any images.

I don't feel the need to have an mSD in my smartphone. I had one when I had the Note 3, and I even had a 64GB card in there, but I don't feel that it's absolutely necessary for everyone. I'm getting a Nexus 6, it doesn't have a mSD slot and I'm fine with it. I have nearly 1TB of media stored in various cloud accounts, and I only ever need to access a fraction of that 1TB at any particular time, so cloud storage works great for me.

I absolutely look forward to the day when our phone's internal storage is in the terabytes, but it's going to take many more years of mobile devices killing off desktops and laptops (in addition to other factors) for that to become a reality.

I just ran it on my note 4. edit. rerunning test as I tested internal not ext.

read 38.48MB/s Write 12.47MB/s

Yeah, these 128GB cards are rather slow compared to the older 64GB and less cards. Still plenty fast for what I use it for, music and movies and pics.
 
I bought mine from Amazon months ago and its SLOW. Use it in my Nokia 1530 now with no issues, just don't expect it to be fast. Oyeve's is fast then mine. Not a phone issue, its the cards.

I want one for the 4k video. I guess it will have to do, as it's the only real choice for the size.
