They set out trying to make a Western Digital 40GB hard drive in 1940 but realized that the IDE 40-wire interface did not exist yet and they had no lubricants that would allow the drive to spin at 40k rpm and William Doobert decided that after 40 attempts at making it they could just use the lubricant/cleaner solution as a poor substitute for oil.

It was developed by the military to be applied on missle hulls I believe. It explains the lame name at least. 🙂

Seriously, the fish like it too. Try spraying some onto your lure next time you're out fishing. Just don't let the rangers catch you. Its illegal, probably because it gives the fish an unfair disadvantage. 😉

Actually, I don't have any problems with PB Blaster's smell. That said, the professional grade K&W Knock 'er Loose I use tends to work best. It's nice having a father who sells to diesel shops. There are all kinds of cool chemicals in our garage.
