It was developed by the military to be applied on missle hulls I believe. It explains the lame name at least.

Seriously, the fish like it too. Try spraying some onto your lure next time you're out fishing. Just don't let the rangers catch you. Its illegal, probably because it gives the fish an unfair disadvantage.

Actually, I don't have any problems with PB Blaster's smell. That said, the professional grade K&W Knock 'er Loose I use tends to work best. It's nice having a father who sells to diesel shops. There are all kinds of cool chemicals in our garage.
