I got my ram today-- And it's "Winbond" chips? I have never heard of them, but it doesn't sound promising.

Anyone know if it can go cas2@133?

Rebate good until Jan. 31st. Just a reminder.

Also, I got infineon chips but...

Sometimes my system sees 128MB and sometimes it sees 64MBs!?!?!
This at 100MHz cas 3!

It may be an incompatability with my mobo FIC VA503+ Rev. 1.2a.

Anybody have similar experiance or ideas?

Odz,
I got Winbond also. From my searching, they build some chips on motherboards. Couldn't find any info on their Ram chips. Don't know how that translates to jacking up the speed on these, though. Let us know because I'm still waiting on my M/B so I can't run the test. On the other hand, I also have some Infineon PC100 ValueRam that I can jack up.

jkon: The brand of the chip is stamped, usually white ink, on the big chips on the stick. Although you may need good light and a magnifying glass to read it.

larymocurly: Infineom(sp?) are considered some of the best, most overclockable RAM. But my FIC VA 503+ mobo is known to be unusually finicky about ram.

IClight: FWIW I recently heard of Winbond. They make the chip on my I/O magic paralell port card.

I got Winbond chips as well...and I can't seem to get the darn thing to work in my computer. It posts fine, but has a tough time loading win2k, and when it does, I get all sorts of errors and the computer automatically reboots. Did I get a bad stick or am I doing something wrong as far as configurations go?

Winbond chips seem to be running fine at 133 CAS2. This is a repost of message on the new thread for the new deal on the same memory at buy.com. I'll try bumping up the speed this weekend. No problems running Win98 last night.
