As I understand it, she never replied to him at all on this matter. He simply saw her statement about not going home for xmas on her blog, and bought the ticket out of the blue. She has no responsibility for the money she didn't ask him to spend. Of course, this guy is deranged and probably won't see it that way.

I believe it's possible to get an itinerary before actually purchasing the flight. So unless the email he sent has confirmation codes on it, he may not have bought it yet. And even if he has, you aren't obligated to use it, because you certainly did not ask him to purchase it.
dezign, be honest with yourself... was there really any question as to what to do with the ticket? and as for your current boyfriend, well, i haven't been following any threads about him but you don't sound too enthusiastic with the way that's going, either.
