.

I like the stuff in their catalog but there is no store near me and their shipping charges are too high.

i love their stuff.
but i have never, and i mean never been able to actually find the stuff that's on display on the shelves later in the checkout.
i am not talking about like a lamp or something, but say if i wanted a whole cabinet etc, then either i will find the shelves, or just the doors and stuff like that. they never have the whole configuration that you can find. this has happened to me about 10 times. and the guys there try to help and look it up on the computer and always say, it says there are 'n' items in stock, here guy#2 will help you find them. so guy#2 comes along with me to look for stuff and we both never find it.
I got annoyed by their just not having the bigger stuff in stock so i stopped going there for bigger items.

still good for smaller items.

cheap, cleverly engineered furniture that isn't ugly and whatever else. i like their store. i have too much of their stuff🙂

plus, remembering fight club always makes me grin🙂

IKEA has some nice stuff. Great desks and office space furniture.

My IKEA desk

yea, i like their benno cd/dvd towers. things are like almost 7 feet tall, really saves space. most of the lousy media towers at other stores are short wide and just waste space.

not really, its like um....
a giant swedish warehouse furniture store, cept the monsterously huge top floor is generally a huge showroom maze.
bottom floor has all the boxed furniture that you buy and wheel out.

i bought a 250 dollars desk there, i borrowed my friends truck to haul this big piece of sh!t and then after returing the truck back to him, i open the package, trying to put this thing together , what do i find? the board inside have a major crack in middle of the desktop.

I guess we take it for granted there's 1 just down the road while seemingly everyone from the tri-state area flocks to one of the three IKEAs for their weekends. All the time - the parking lot is a mess - unbelievable. We find the majority of their furniture very flimsy and unsturdy. Some are good for the price, but not the best to furnish a home with. Good for apartments and temporary settings.

ikea is good for the knick knacks around the house. towel racks, mirrors, shelving, etc. i wouldn't buy any big furniture there though. pretty cheap flimsy stuff

Definitely better off doing it yourself with some nice solid wood. Else you gotta spend real dough at Seamans or Levitz (it was rough)... or the more upscale non-chain places (damn that's a lotta cash).

Pretty good furniture for college students or newly grads. Good stylish apartment furniture. But if you're trying to furnish a house you probably won't find too many gems there.
