In my opinion P&N has to have limits to be a good community. If there are no limits than P&N becomes even worse than something like the yahoo news comment sections. It is already weakened by people like Anarchist420 and COW/Rabidmongoose, who are smarter and more subtle trolls than OP. Half the posts become about whether Lincoln would have approved of gay sex (Anarchist) or how the Queen of England wants to kill all non-whites (Cow/Rabidmongoose).

To the extent P&N works its because people of different viewpoints have at least some common understanding about reality. People want to argue about what appropriate response to 9/11 should have been, not about whether invisible Martians or Jews caused it. People want to talk about how the riots in Britain are going and what the causes are, they don't want to talk about how white English people are the worst humans to ever have existed on the face of the Earth.

That's just my opinion on what is good for P&N.

any debate will display inevitably different opinions.

At the end of the day this is a predominantly American forum, but it's hardly that conservative. Most polls show that there is a left-leaning majority.

And anyway, the sad thing is that the OP would be tolerated if he were just a little smarter about it. Look at Cow/RabidMongoose. They engage in constant anti-Britain trolling but get away with it because they're more subtle.
