I'm trying to find a good board that's overclockable and will not hold back the i7 2600k. My setup will be mostly use for (GTX470) FPS gaming and Allot of Video editing and encoding. I'm also trying to find compatible memory for it the max in memory will be either 12gb or 16gb. But thats not happening now. lol So I need a rocking mobo for under $200..

Oh, then go ahead and use it then. I was under the impression that you are getting it new. No point getting a new card as the GTX470 is still good for current games.

5-way P67 roundup

All five brands got within 102MHz of each other. Heck, even the ECS board did fine and wasn't the lowest.

Basically, multiplier overclocking takes a lot out of the equation as long as the motherboard can supply enough stable power.

I would go with the extreme 4 or the biostar xle; this is based on extensive reading and not personal ownership. I have the msi gd65 which has given me no issues but it has a few minor quarks. The asus boards seem to (currently) be the most finiky followed by the msi.

With regards to performance they are all about the same; the major decider shoudl be ports (sata, usb, ps/2 (a few have 2; most have 1)), slots, brand loyalty, price not nec in that order. The msi jfp2 blocks the second video card; it's not a deal breaker but you have to work around the issue (the other boards do not have this issue). Other minor issue can be after market heat sink blocking ram slot - this is an issue with most of the boards so do your research if it matters. To be honest msi customer support has been pretty decent; oh yea one other negative about the msi board is that the board it self has almost no self diagnosis if there is an issue (the biostar and asrock have an led that displays a number (error code)).

I want to emphasis that I've had 0 issues with my msi board and my complaint with jfp2 is more of distaste with the design than a critical issue; but if you use incompatible ram (for example) the board will enter a reboot loop. Hum; oh yea i'm only running my 2500k at 4ghz due to heat issue with the stock fan (if I run prime95 for an hour it will get up to low 70's C; games and most real usage it runs much cooler (upper 50's) as they do not stress all 4 cores at 100%).

So do you think the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus (With a Second Fan Add on) will fit in the Asrock Extreme 4

Yes. I have the extreme4 and it has been a great board. I also have the 212+. Let me clarify a few things though. If you are going to get RAM with tall heatspreaders (G. Skill Ripjaw X, in my case) then the 212+ will barely touch the heatspreaders if the RAM is installed in the slot closest to the cpu socket.
In my situation, I simply moved my 2 sticks of RAM to slots 2 and 4. No more problems. Now, I could have also, ever so slightly raised the fan up a few mm's. It is easy to do and from what I've read will not impact cooling much, if any.

Of course, if you get "normal" height RAM then there should not be an issue.

+1 for extreme 4. Running at 4.5 with an extra 0.010 voltage offset amd everything else on auto. The 212+ keeps it cool enough. I'm sure I could do better cooling but it is nice for $23. Also with the front usb3 bracket that connects to an internal header you get usb3 on front without pass through cables.
