For at least the Samsungs they display 1080p but only take a 1080i signal through the HDMI port. Apparently you can use a PC to send 1080p though, through the VGA port IIRC.

My brother has had a 61" Samsung for 3-4 weeks now and really, really likes it.

the thing is that plasma's have that novelty wall-hanging thing going for them. LCDs are almsot at plasma quality so maybe you're right

no interlacing artifacts/flicker.

Easily noticalbe with fast left/right pans.
