Kids who hang out in groups are hardly innocent-looking, especially when they are influenced by each other. We've all been there... you'll realize it and "grow up" at some point... look back at this... and realize why the "cops" thought you were suspect in the first place. I've always said... the worst influence on a kid is having friends... double-edged sword.

I don't know about your story, but I do know and agree with you that cops are pigs. Have not met a decent cop in my life. I just think cops are no better than gang bangers which cops is also another form of organization to screw you over.

You're a moron. I've never met a decent judgemental person in my life. You're just the most recent contact I've had.

It's frustrating to deal with all the stupidity on this board. Imagine what the rest of America is like.

If you find an unlocked car and steal the $300 worth of CDs inside, is it really stealing? It was unlocked though!!

You're a freaking moron.

1) Car is not public property
2) I stole nothing
3) Your anology sucks and has nothing to do with this situation.

For the morons who can't understand and feel they need to exaggerate the facts to insult me, let me clarify..

-I vandalised nothing. An old folding chair which is already laying in the turf being tossed 10 ft. is not vandalism.
-We were sitting on the edge of the roof for the most part, not 'dinking around' or whatever you want to call it. Our brother was almost directly below us.. the roof is so low his head would touch our feet.
-The structure was not damaged and we made no attempts to damage it
-Again, the bat was far out of reach and sight of the cops until they had us cuffed. "As far as they knew," we were kids sitting on the edge of a roof and watching our brother near the fence below.
-Going through the open gate required a gigantic flight of stairs and 4 more blocks of walking.. tell me you wouldn't do the same if already inside the field.
-We saw 2 of the joggers jump the fence and run around the stadium undisturbed.. the others we did not see enter

I know several who are fine people. I'm so sick of all of this anti-cop sentiment. Cops are just people, people doing a job. They have to deal with the lowest scum out there, wouldn't you expect them to be a little testy on the job? I'd like to see how long some of you would last in a world without cops.

Well said.

Funny how most of the people in here get pissed at their desk or retail jobs when dealing with an irrate customer. There have been many threads started BB employees, Network admins, sammich shop owners who are hot under the collar because they had to deal with a difficult customer.

Now put yourself in the cops shoes. 90% of the people he/she deals with lie, cheat, steal, vandalize, beat, shoot, st*b, run, do drugs. If you were in the cops shoes and knowing that most of the time you get a call to respond to a bunch of juveniles with baseball bats breaking sh*t, your damn right the weapons will be out.

The bottom line is that AFTER they had control of the situation and realized you were telling the truth they let you go. If for one second they suspected any funny business you would have had a hard time making your post from jail. The stuff they told you before they released you was to scare the hell out of you, and it looks like it worked. I bet you will think twice before you do that crap again.

Trespass deals with being somewhere with out inferred or explicit permission... neither seem to be granted in your sitting on the building... climbing the fence or the gate portion of the closed fence could be construed as a trespass... on the fence,...arguably perhaps.

The open gate invites folks to enter thereby... the locked gate does not invite circumvention by the agile.

The actions of the many.... if illegal... do not mitagate the action of the few if illegal... even if you were but lemmings..

Cops are people who have to deal with attitudes like your own constantly... be nice and polite and thankful... let your true self come out... you'll feel better.

Hey kid, I still think if they really even had guns, and they trained it on your brother like that, that you are leaving something out.

Even so, you WERE TRESPASSING.
