Damn.... I just got back from buying this at Sams and I didn't know they would take Amex Blue online. I already knew they wouldn't take it at B&M.

Now I wonder if it is worth the hassle to return it, plus pay " ??$ " for shipping, just so I can use the AMEX Blue PM guarentee. arrrgggg Of course not just for the $20 savings currently available as descussed previously, but someone could drop it lower still in the next 60 days.

Me and a friend just got one from the Flint MI Sams. Should be ~14 left at 1:50pm.

hehehe such a good deal didnt read the whole thread about the only taking Discover in the stores :|

... good thing I had my trusty debit card....

PS. Why did I buy this?? 250Gb now...

I definitely wouldn't mess with it for the little difference. I think AMEX might also check to make sure there isn't a rebate on Sam's vs. Outpost. I've heard their getting a little stricter on the PMing. I wouldn't do it.

Fearing a mad rush of AT'ers at my local Sam's Club, last night I submitted a "Click N' Pull" order. They're supposed to set the items aside for you to pickup and pay for within 72 hours. Well, at my Sam's nobody knew anything about "Click N' Pull" (the guy who might've was at lunch). I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for someone to find the package with my name on it. Oh well.... Anyway, picked up one at the N. Holmes St. location in Phoenix. They may have more but there were no shelf tags out. Thanks to the originator and good luck everyone.

Just got back from 135th and Metcalf in Kansas City: $235.38 - $100 MIR = $135.38. CAUTION: you must send in the REBATE RECEIPT part of the receipt:

Mail Rebate Receipts(s) to qualify for payment. Member copy receipt will not be accepted. One submission per household per program. Check rebate book for guidelines & purchase requirements. Mail submission by the 10th of the month following month of purchase.

SKU# 743001 WD 100GB, 7200RPM. Average Seek TIme: 8.9 ms.
Buffer Size: 2MB. ATA100.

They had more than 10 left at 1:30PM on 11/30/01.

Thanks for the post!

Comment about Amex Blue: Strangely, if you order from Sam's online you can use Amex, Visa, MC, etc. even though they only take Discover in the B&M.

<< Anyone know if this is 1 HD per Sam's membership (for the rebate to work). If I get a membership, can I my friend buy a HD too and send in his own rebate? Or does he need his own membership?

Thanks! BTW, I don't have a Sam's near me, so the membership is useless otherwise.
>>

Yes, one rebate on this item per membership, so don't buy another for your friend. And you can order from Sam's on-line if there isn't a store near you.

Was suprised to see quite a lot of them behind the lock-up cabinet. But i guess since the rebate starts today, I was one of the earlier people who picked these up. 🙂

For those who don't see any shelf tags should head straight to the counter to see if they have any there. The tags don't usually tally with the number of items in stock.

Thanks! 🙂

Edit: After reading the rebate form, it seems to me that the UPC code is not needed for rebate submission. Can anyone verify that?

so you have to have the original receipt? only one per account?
so like i couldnt go in there and buy 2 of them for a raid setup?
damn that sucks

this is no longer available on the website. it went out of stock or something apparently during the 15 minutes i spent to fill out the club registration and fork over my $35.

fwiw, i went to the store in san diego and the drive there is $249 instead of the $219 price it is online.

be careful with the timing if you are buying a membership for this -- i thought i was being careful and still managed to get burned by what seemed flaming hot 🙁

I'm on my way now to get 2 of em at Sams B&M... Just have my girlfriend get one on her membership and one on mine... mmmm 200gb of hd space...

They Have free one day passes at the customer service counter. So if you wanted 2 drives you could buy 1 using your membership and then ask for a one day pass @customer service and use that pass and number to buy another one with cash, That way you would have 2 different member numbers to use for the rebates, just send one to a friends or relatives house.

I got one just a few hours ago. This makes 4 western digital drives I've purchased in the last few weeks. I bought a couple of the 60GB 7200 RPM drives at bestbuy a few weeks ago when they were $129. I bought them for a raid 0 array. I bought one of the 60Gb 5400RPm drives last friday at the big black friday sale and then today I bought this one. I'm gonna wind up with alot of harddrive space. Anyway, I'm thinking I might just return the 5400RPM drive to bestbuy as it's still in the box. Then again I might change my mind and just keep it and use it for backup or something.

At my local sam's club they were $219, but of course you'll have to pay local sales tax which will vary from state to state. Anyway, I believe this rebate runs from nov 30 to dec 31. So, if they do run out of stock at your local Sam's club perhaps they will get some back in stock before the rebate expires.

As for the membership, I got that a while back. The company I work for had a deal where you could get a membership for half price. So, I took advantage of that.

IM GOING CRAZY!!!!!

Someone please post how the hell you get the rebate form.
I just picked it up at the Sams Club (along with my free membership) .. I think they have plenty more in the cage?

Anyway they of course didn't have the rebate and only had the old form for all the rebates. They said come in tommorow to get it. But I want to make sure I can get my hands on it before it's too late! So if someone has physically got the form, and can scan or post a .jpg please do.

I follow those ones online and they don't do anything but show me it in my "list". There's no like "checkout" or anything! Am I blind?

PLEASE!

Hah, i just saw it and got to it and then saw your reply. I think those top gifs "print" ..etc weren't loading first time around.

Thanks.... time to print.

Duh! for the online rebate you check the ones that you want and the click the "Add my checked items to the list" button. Once you add your item(s) you will see your updated list at the top of the page. Once you have added all the rebates that you want, you click the print tab att the top of the page and it will ask you to login if you have not already. The customized rebate form will then display and you can click the "print my rebate submission form: button.

<< just called and they said $269.98? Maybe I have to go and check Any info? >>

Displayed the same price in my B&m ..however it rung up at 219..so no need to worry...gotta hurry though..
