100GB WD Hard Drive @ SAMS $119.98 after $100 MIR

The new maxtor 5400rpm 160.0 Gb ata/133 drive just came out and is priced for about $290. I think I will just get two of these drives and a controller card equalling the same price, but faster speed and 40 more gigs of space.

Maxtor d740x 60gb ata/133 7200rpm + 2x WD 100gb ata/100 7200rpm = Drool 😛

<< is the rebate good for B&M or Online? and have anyone experience with sams club rebate? >>

Hollowman, Sams is very good with the rebates BUT there is one thing to watch out for: they only allow one rebate submission per rebate period (one month). You send in one request for ALL the rebates in that month. Saves postage you and them but if you send it in before the month is up and then want to buy another rebated item, you are out of luck.

so, you are suggesting buying this hdd would be good? also, how long does it usually take for sams rebate to come?

<< If you purchase a rebate item shown on this Web site and do not receive a Rebate Receipt OR if you purchase a rebate product and it does not print out on your Rebate Receipt; PLEASE CALL 1-866-804-SAMS (7267) FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. >>

Any one care to give them a call? Hope this will go through.😀

I called them this morning. When you submit your rebate, you will need to include the PACKING SLIP that is delivered with your hard drive.

Sam's rebates have always been dependable & easy to submit. This is a flaming deal!

Yes, you must be a member to order from website, but you could think of investing in a membership for $35.00, only purchase from Sam's online, & you would still get a great deal on this hard drive! The next time there is a Hot Deal at Sam's, you can just log on & order!

What could be easier than putting it on my Sam's credit card?

Ahh, my membership expired last month and i'm not going back just for a hard drive!

$219.98 + $15.40(tax) + $35(membership fee, not for members of course) - $100 = $170

By my decree this is only a "good deal" for non-members to only buy the membership for this drive only. About $200 on pricewatch.com

I hope so; I ordered one ;-) I may hold off sending in the rebate for a few weeks in case I buy something else from Sam's with a rebate. BTW: Sam's is pretty quick with the rebates: approx 2-4 weeks after submitting for mine.

you can even do an amex pricematch with outpost.com for $199.00...

i'll probably end up doing just that, and selling my WD 60gig 5400rpm from BB (the "clicking" sound is pretty irritating)...if it wasn't for that clicking, i would've sold my 45gigger...

I was about to buy 2 of them.. But tax was $37.40 for 2!!! Geeze tax sucks. That made the drives 140 a piece which is still good.... But not as good at $119

just got back from the Sams Club in Vestal NY. They had about 25 of them at the counter, and they were handing out the flyer with the rebate form as you walked in. All said and done it was $237 after tax, so $137 for a 100 gig 7200 drive 🙂

on a sidenote, cashier was like "its $3 for the extended service plan", so i was like sounds good, but then she looked it up and it was actually $19 so i passed. :disgust:

Ok, I just got the drive at my local Sam's (Franklin, TN). Everything went great, except they didn't have the new rebate forms yet, but said I could get it online. I can find that rebate page linked earlier, but can do nothing with it. I add the Western Digital rebate to my cart, but how the hell do you get the form??? Anyone figured out how to make that page work? If someone has it, please let me know. Thanks!

[EDIT]Nevermind, don't follow the link up top. Go to Sam's Club and click on the Rebate tab, and you should be able to get it from there and print it out. HOT DEAL! [/EDIT]

Anyone know if this is 1 HD per Sam's membership (for the rebate to work). If I get a membership, can I my friend buy a HD too and send in his own rebate? Or does he need his own membership?

Thanks! BTW, I don't have a Sam's near me, so the membership is useless otherwise.

Edit: Sorry, my bad. I get Sams and Costco confused... Doh'p!

Edit2: I checked the site, it does accept Blue

<edit>
Final price: $220 + $35(memb) + $20(tax/s&h) - $100MIR - $20(Blue PM) = $155[/b]

Only $120 if you already have membership...
</edit>

Don't forget about Amex Blue PM!!! Help pay for that tax!

Outpost for $199, save $20

When did Sam's start accepting Amex??

Acme

Sams does not accept Amex, Blue or any other variety. Discover only, unless something has happened recently.

It's wacky that you can use Visa or Mastercard on their web site, but only Discover in their store...

Hot gugely mogely... so tempting... to replace my 2x20Gig that are raided...with 2x100gig. That would make it 200Gig just on the Raid... must resist.... (Side note, is it one Rebate per Person only?_

<< samsclub.com takes amex blue >>

Yep, I just got done reading the Sam's Payment FAQ, and I stand corrected. They do, indeed, accept Amex on the web site.

i've been a long-time member of samsclub (joined sometime in 1991) and have participated in many of their rebate promos. they always pay the rebates and are pretty consistent at sending out the checks within 8 weeks. you should feel completely confident in sending in for this rebate.

as always, just make sure to keep copies of everything. if you have any troubles with the rebate, they have several ways of contacting their rebate center.

i just wish they had done this deal back when best buy was doing their $300 - $100 GC deal.... heh

ps - i do NOT work for sam's club or wal-mart in anyway. i'm just a satisfied customer of theirs 😀
