1002 (beta 005) bios for Asus P4B266-C/new fixes

Good news, they finaly fixed the Cpu temp reading stuck at 40c, it now reads correctly.I even installed Asus PC probe in windows & it read it correctly also.

Next I will got see if the fixed the USB mouse boot issus over 133mhz.

<< More good news, they fixed the Ms intellimouse optical no boot at 133mhz issue too.

I am now happy.😀
>>

I use an Intellimouse Explorer USB on both my P4B266-C rigs and no problem w/ booting @ 150FSB. I will try this bios though. 😉

Some of us were having problems John,it seems they are now fixed.🙂

<< i'm trying to d/l it... i can't...keeps coming up with the explorer white screen of death >>

No prob Trader05 I will email you the bios.

A question for all of you p4b266-c users. I just built my new box yesterday using this motherboard and a p4 1.6a. I will be darned if I can't figure out how to get into the bios setup. I read through the manual and found nothing. I am used to seeing "Press F4 to run setup" or something like that. Please help inform a noob.

Thanks.

<< anyone know if this bios adresses the 3/4 memory divider? So we can keep ddr 266 at FSB's over 132. >>

Nope it's still 1:1 at 133 & up.

This update did somewhat improve some time in the usb issue..not resolved tho. My hub and mouse still blink for about 5 secs......

WHAT THE HELL!?!?!??!? Why in the hell is Asus limiting this board like this. No point in a high core frequency without the mem bandwidth..........this FREAKIN SUX

I mean WTF... this is the reason i spent extra cash on Corsair xms2700. So i could push both mem band and FSB. Its not like the board is unable to do it. They just need to enable it in the freakin bios.

Actually, I do notice my systems doing that, but then they boot fine. Kind of annoying. I can't download the new bios. 🙁

Just flashed to the beta and it solved my USB mouse Boot problem as well as the hardware monitor temp problem. These were the only complaints I've had with this board and there both solved now. I would like to see the 3/4 mem ratio go past 132 but I'm still happy with the performance. My Sandra Mem scores went up by about 100 points after the flash! Check it out- Here

starting to feel really inferior now...i tried using the delete key to get into the bios, but it doesn't work. There is only about 1 or 2 seconds before the "Starting to load windows 2000." screen comes up, and by then obviously it is too late. I don't know what i have done wrong. Anyone know?

thanks.

griffin - Ya gotta start hitting the <delete> key as soon as you see the POST screen - i.e. - as soon as you see ANYTHING on your monitor.

ok, swapped keyboards and it works...

My sentiments exactly. 🙁

Either wait a few seconds for it to post (the mouse light will blink for a few), or just wait unti lthe OS starts booting and plug it in then. 🙂 It has something to do with the "Initializing PNP Cards" routine the bios does. This seems to be an Asus only thing too.
