+149 for Dec. 2015
2015 was a PR for yearly mileage for me, but I'm hoping to run even more in 2016. With a half and a full coming up this weekend, that shouldn't be a problem, as long as I can remain injury-free.

If your screen name is pronounced Mercy-less. Then it's appropriate. A half a full in the same weekend?😱 Good speed to you sir!
Actually, it's not that bad, since I'm doing both races at easy pace. I did the same combo a few years back, and at the time it was only my second full marathon. To date, it's still my slowest, but also my easiest. I felt great afterward. It's still only 39.3 miles total over the weekend, and I hope to run 50 miles in a single day in April, so this shouldn't be that big a deal at all.
Is this the Disney World races? I know they have a whole week of 5k, 10k, half and full marathon. I think they're called different things if you run a combo of the races. Like Dopey for running all four in four days.
Yes it is. I'm doing the "Goofy Challenge" (half/full) for the second time. I'll be running the half with some family members, and may be approaching 3 hours to finish. Definitely not race pace!

Sounds like fun!
Sometimes it is nice to just run a race for the fun of it without worrying about hitting a new PR, etc.
Huh. I always pronounced it mur-Sill-is. Never made that connection somehow.
Seems like too nice of a guy to be mercyless.
I had 85 miles in January. Not as many I would have hoped, but 10" of snow, and a bad respiratory virus knocked me out for a good 7 days worth of running. I feel like I'm behind schedule for my half marathon coming up in March. Haven't had as many long runs as I would hoped and just feel sort of..bleh. Been a rough stretch at work and my kids have been bearcats the last several weeks.
No clue what to expect from this half marathon. I'm going in with twice the running base I did for my first one. My plan is just to line up in the 1:45 pacers and see how I feel. If I'm still feeling fresh at that the halfway point it's time to start hammering it home.

That's some serious miles man. Damn. Not only is that a major physical and emotional commitment...that's a ton of time. It's tough with two young kids and my wife and I have full time jobs. Have to get up at 4:15AM to get my miles in before work. That means long runs also have to happen that time on weekends. In another couple years when my kids are older and they can be alone it will be easier. But right now...uhg. It's tough.
We're tired. We're sore. We're already looking for our next race. 😛 That 1:40 mark will be broke!
Thanks guys. It was quite a trip and a learning experience. We also got coupons for other races in the National Parks series to use. So I think our next race will be down near Knoxville TN at the Smoky Mountain Half Marathon in September. It's a 2.5 hour drive from where we live. Elevation is similar to what we run at and it will be a lot warmer. 😛
My goal before that is to knock on the door of sub 20:00 5k's this summer. 🙂
