36.5m these last two weeks. A bit less than usual because I've been traveling, but it served as a nice rest before my half marathon this morning. Got under 2h officially for the first time, at 1:53 🙂

nice time man. I'm really trying to push faster as I'm really slow. :\ I figure doing some hiit/sprinting would help.

did 13 miles last week.

Thanks. Volume is what got me to that time. Not crazy volume like IB 🙂 but 30-40k per week with a long run every weekend. Hill sprints definitely helped with fitness and lung capacity and what-not, but I think mostly only improved my time over shorter distances. To run longer distances, you have to, well, run long distances 😛 A mix of everything is probably best.

😳 But, but...I thought I was just doing normal amounts of mileage?

Congrats on the PR kamper - great to see you get under the 2 hour barrier . And you're correct - to improve your half marathon time, longer intervals (1000m-1600m) and longer threshold runs (try 6-10k at your 1/2 marathon race pace) are what will help the most, in addition to more mileage.

And here I thought the trail would have defrosted after the past few days of spring like weather... 8 miles on mud, slush, ice, and snow is no joke. My daughter did 4! But it was so warm outside, it was worth the pain to enjoy the trails on a day like today.

9 miles yesterday, 10 today. Finally starting to do some real mileage again! Ran shirtless today, which was absolutely glorious! It was warm and sunny and muddy and hilly and I looked like a mud golem after I finished!!!

+74 since last update :\

School is killing me and I barely have time to upload my runs...

Finals week coming up though, and spring quarter **should** be easier!

8 miles on the trail today, it was great. My daughter and neice did 4 miles, and it was my neice's first run, outside of playing games of course, ever. It seems the women in my wife's family are natural runners. Too bad 99.99% of them don't take advantage of that fact.

Don't know. I stay in zone (155-163 BPM) for 45 min with a fast walk begining and end for warm up and cool down 6x a week.😀

Since I last posted, 10 miles on Friday (including 4 miles tempo at 1/2 marathon pace), 6 miles on Saturday and 17 miles yesterday. 73 miles for the week.

Red Dawn, can you update your last post with the total accumulated mileage including your contributions? It'll make it easier for the next poster to update. Oh and welcome to the thread. Have fun!

7.5 Saturday, 3.6 today. I officially decided that I'm running a half for the first time on 5/30, so my mileage should keep going up from here.
