Yes, they do. My son and I take turns swatting them off each other's back. I can't wait for the first frost to kill them off.

Welcome to Shadow Conception and screwd01.

Well I guess that's another benefit of having a running partner.

And ya, welcome Shadow Conception and screwd01! :)

Just got back from a 6 miler. Hit 5 6:25s then ended on a 6 flat.

Little bit of a struggle, but that's to be expected for taking a long break I suppose. Actually not nearly as bad as I thought it'd be :)

Good job! I am pretty jealous of you speedsters, but at 180 I find myself better at long distances.

Scorch: *Only* 80 miles? :Q That's solid dude. I'm at around 65 right now and I'll probably peak around 75, maybe 80 a month from now.

allies: That's a quick pace dude, especially after taking time off. Good job!

8 miles for me tonight, including 25 minutes of up-tempo. 8271

Haha yep, *only* 80. I'm at 81 miles in 6 days for this week so far; will probably do another 10-12 tomorrow for 91-93. This morning I ran the last 10 miles of my fiancee's 19-miler with her. It was slow (9:06 pace) but far preferable to trying to do a 6-mile tempo like I had planned. And she needed the encouragement and knowledge that she could still do a long run (lat few attempts haven't gone so well). 8281

I've heard that pacers make all the difference in the world, especially in the long distance world. You're a good guy to help her along.

9 miles at race pace (5:56 avg); 1.5 up/down (12 miles total).

More relaxed and consistent today. I think it helped that I had massive groups of cyclists (probably 80 total) along my route to talk to and play catch-up with.

At a stoplight, one woman asked me how long I had been running for:

"You should slow down; you're making us look bad. How many miles so far?"
"7.5 miles of my tempo"
"74 miles for us so far" :Q
"Woah...well done."

I took off again, and they passed me 1.5 miles later, just as I finished. Some guy out gardening also asked me if I had forgotten to bring my bike . Good times.

You're right...it's a few seconds per mile too fast for the marathon ;):D. One day though...

For now, 6 minute miles or bust!

I just did about 19 miles, I can only confirm 18 of them. The Mountain Madness Race is done, I was the 11th finisher, the fourth guy to declare myself a trail runner. The trail runners won the day, woohoo!

I'll do a race report later this evening.
