+4 miles tried keeping my pace slow and easy and still ended up running at 9:10 pace. Felt realty easy regardless. 20 mile trail run tomorrow.

7.5 tonight. Did the last mile in 7:41 (fast for me) and my knees don't seem to think that was a great idea.

Well 20 miles on the Potawatomi-Waterloo trail today. 10:40 pace. Hit the wall in spectacular fashion at about mile 18.5 despite keeping up on food. I think it was because it was almost 70 degrees out today! Not expecting the relative heat after temps being in the 40s and 50s the last two weeks. Treated myself with a giant bowl of poutine post run.

Jeebus man, and here I am proud of myself for putting in 135 miles this month(caveats about me only training for 10 months vs you training for years apply). And you doubled me. Crazy. Then again I'm sure as I continue to train I'll get there at some point in the future.

Anyways, +4.4 recovery miles in 20 mph winds

Definitely a case of finding out your body's limits. Some of the faster marathoners here will log those 65+ MPW - increased volume really does make a big difference. Some people aren't built to handle that kind of volume - anything over 60 and I find myself just lethargic and missing runs from being tired. (And starting to feel aches) Your 135 this month is nothing to sneeze at my friend...great job!

+5.3 miles.

Postcard perfect morning run. 40 degrees out. No wind, the sun rising up over the river as I ran by, the sunlight dappled through all the trees ablaze in their various fall hues of red, yellow and orange. Just a great run.

Thanks for the compliments re 260 in Oct. I don't usually do that; ~40mpw is about my base mileage. I blame the Hanson Advanced marathon plan I'm currently using to get ready for Richmond on 11/16! After that's done, I'm definitely going to take a few days off, and enjoy the break from a fixed schedule for a while.

Trauma - nice job hitting 20, esp. in those temps. Just remember to stay hydrated!

Thanks! I blame the weatherman, was only supposed to be like 56 that day, so I was dressed for that and not the 69 my car said when I finished. I've been doing a great job of hydrating and eating, especially for my long run because of the Nathan hydration pack I bought. Makes it really easy to carry a couple GUs, a banana and a PB&J sandwich plus the 2 liters of liquid.

Anyways, +13.3 miles over the last two days, this morning was spent trailblazing on single track, was yet another gorgeous fall morning.

5 miles on the treadmill tonight and it felt like 10. We are now officially into my least favorite part of the year. It's dark when I go to work and dark when I get home which means lots of indoor running.
