Ran on my families property up here. We have trails cuts through 125 acres of land here in northwestern lower Michigan. Was a perfect 50 degrees out. Scared up some deer and turkey. Not another human in sight. If only I could run these trails daily. Beautiful, hilly and wooded.

Sounds great. I'd have loved 50 degrees. I ran 12 trail miles today, it was effing hot out, but there was a decent breeze.

My slacking showed its effect this morning. I was 10 seconds off pace for a 5K race. Did a 1 mile kiddie run afterwards with the younger one.

8 over the past 5 days. Feeling pretty good and actually forcing myself to follow a plan instead of just winging it and doing a whole lot more than I should be doing.

Ran the North Country Trail(look it up) this morning. Was again a stunningly beautiful morning 58 degrees blue skies no wind. Knee ached a bit towards the end.

Sounds beautiful. Trail running is just amazing. I don't do it nearly enough.

Superpsyched to get a new half PR this morning - 1:38:54! 😀

Congrats!

It is beautiful up here. This part of Michigan is sparsely populated so you really feel the isolation on the trails. Heck I didnt see any other human footprints on the trail at all. Makes me wish I didn't live in the big city. But glad my family owns land up here this close to such a great place to trail run.

8.3 miles this morning. Was going to do this run yesterday but work got in the way, for 12 hours.... Ugh.

Whilst working, I did sign up for a 50K and set my mind on an alternate hundo in November.

Please forgive my curiosity, but when you say 50K, do you run the whole thing or is that more of a walk / run type of deal? I mean, that's 31 miles ...

Depends on the runner and the course but usually you run the whole distance. Once you get to like a 50 mile or 100k then often its run and walk. Especially if its a mountainous course its more efficient to walk the uphills. Or so I've read. I'd like to run an ultra sometime next year so I've been doing lots of research.

5.1 miles tonight along the lake. Was gonna be a relaxing jaunt but the deerflies encouraged me to run a little faster. Wound up with a tempo run.
